Shanghai Mahjong is a free version of the classic game Mahjong, in which you clear the board by matching pairs of colorfully illustrated tiles. Adults and kids alike will enjoy this fun game.
Shanghai Mahjong is attractively designed and simple to use. We've played many versions of this type of game over the years, and it never gets old. Lots of PCs come with some type of Mahjong preinstalled, but if your computer didn't, you can download this game for free. The software comes with no Help file that we could find. We did find brief instructions on the publisher's Web site, should you need them, but the program is plenty easy to use. We like that there's a Kids' version; if you're intimidated by the large pile of tiles that appears when you start the regular "Shanghai" level of the game, try the Kids level, which has a much smaller pile of tiles. The Kids version also offers a quick, easy game for adults and experienced players. Parents can use Shanghai Mahjong to teach their kids the concept of pairs and make learning fun. You can restart the game at any time, so if you're dissatisfied with the combination of tiles that comes up when you start a game, you can start over with one click.
Shanghai Mahjong installs and uninstalls with no problems. It's free, so you can't beat the price. Add this modern version of a timeless classic to your Games folder and enjoy hours of fun!
Publisher's description
From NowStat :Select a skill level by clicking "For Kids" or "Shanghai". The goal of the game is to remove all tiles from the screen. The rules are that you can only remove tiles by matching two that are the same, and they must not be blocked from sliding to the left or right. Click one tile, then click the second. If they match and they are free to be removed, they will disappear. You can only remove a tile if it does not have a tile on top of it, and it has a space free either to the left or right of it. Imagine sliding the tile out left or right. If there is a tile obstructing the one you wish to slide out, the move will be dissallowed. Good luck!
