Version: Serv-U 6.1.0.5
Pros: Real-time tracking of activity on the running server.
Very easy to setup logins and change permissions.
Allows for quick changing of the active port the FTP is on.
Well-known name in the FTP world.
Cons: Not free. Quite expensive with freeware alternatives out there.
If you do not run the FTP server setup wizard after completing the install you are pretty much out of luck with getting the server set up properly.
It is not very user friendly...you had better have some computer/FTP-know how before you decide to start using this program.

Version: Serv-U 7.1.0.2
Pros: very heavy GUI, NO support they don't even answer your mails, and the real fun part Serv-U does not see folder on the network, i think its ok for only if you want to share 2 or 3 files on your home computer

Pros: It has more options to give the privilege to users.
Cons: I think there is nothing at all to dislike this lovely software.

"ServU...a Hackers best friend"
Summary: This product is terrible. McAfee will flag and delete the product after install unless you click the appropriate setting. Why is this?? Most hackers prefer this product over others to send out nasty viruses...way to promote computer hackers/viruses... read more

Version: Serv-U 7.2.0.1
Pros: It is half-way decent software.. too bad they are liars. I do not do business with companies that like to lie and decieve people.
Cons: It is a pretty sorry company to advertise something as free; but it is not free (unless you download it from a file sharing program :), which is what you should do when companies LIE to you about it, and decieve you into downloading it.
