"Far superior to Adobe Photoshop Elements!"
Version: Serif DrawPlus Starter Edition 2.0.1
Pros
You can create complex drawings or edit photos with even this trial version and same them as standard image files (jpg, png, etc.).
Cons
You don't have the full functionality but for around $50 you can. That's about 50% less then if you had bought it directly online WITHOUT trying it first!
Summary
You absolutely can't go wrong with either the trial or the full version of this amazing software. Actually, ALL the software from Serif is amazing and priced absurdly low IMO.

"Intuitive, fast, and highly powerful."
Version: Serif DrawPlus Starter Edition 2.0.1
Pros
The starter version is quite good and useful...but the full version really sets a new standard for ease of use and power. I've been going through trials of Illustrator, Corel, Xara, and this...DrawPlus. After a month of putting each through their paces, I opted for DrawPlus because of its remarkably intuitive interface, logical array of tools, and comprehensive professional capabilities. The ridiculously reasonable price -- $79 direct from Serif is just icing on the cake. I really am willing to pay for software that does the job -- so I would have forked over a lot more for the Adobe stuff or Corel, but this is the one I liked the most. Wasn't even close. The results are equivalent to the others...and perhaps even better because this program is so easy to use and a fun tool for batting around concepts without worrying about all the little technicalities the others impose.
Cons
This and other Serif programs have been around for decades now, and they are quite popular overseas. But Adobe and Corel have the North American market locked in, which is too bad because this and the other Serif software are a lot better suited to average users, even graphic artists.
Summary
Unless you absolutely must have Adobe or Corel in your organization due to stupid IT requirements, this is the graphics package you really want. If you want to show-up some veteran pros, this will help you do it. Very cool...highly recommended.

"Waste of Time"
Version: Serif DrawPlus Starter Edition 2.0.1
Pros
You're able to see what the main screen looks like and what buttons you would be able to click if you had the paid version
Cons
You're required to register online. It's free but it's annoying cause you can't open the program without doing so. Then once you're allowed in the program virtually any button you click prompts you to buy the upgraded version. You can't even use a damn paintbrush tool.
Summary
The title "Starter Edition" isn't lying. You're able to insert a picture, that's it.

"Initial exploring of features was eased with tutorials."
Version: Serif DrawPlus Starter Edition 2.0.1
Pros
Repetition, of course, is the key, however, it had a 'Visio' familiarity to it. Basics are intuitive and good, ample, features for a free-starter version. Photos were fun to embellish with text and mat.
Cons
I appreciated the software enough to remember it's name. I did not have to be reminded every time I closed it. Then again, it was nice that they always thanked me.
Summary
I decided to order the DrawPlus 5 when it was on sale, as a result of creating many adequate graphics, plans and cards with the starter version. Now..."enough....isn't, more will be better". They were so genuinely polite on the phone too!
Epic-proportioned imagination, is still feeble, to the choices you can accrete and apply.

"I dare you to try it"
Version: Serif DrawPlus Starter Edition 2.0.1
Pros
I seriously just made an account to tell you guys that this software if awesome. It has lots of things use.
Cons
None, zero, zilch,
Summary
Not hard to get use to but like other software, you can't master it in a day. If you are serious about drawing on your computer, I will have to say this software is great for you.
Softwares you can also try along with this is that are free:
Gimp - a free photoshop but, it lacks some features
Inkscape - great for 2d art
paint.net - also good for 2d art
greenfish painter - it is fun to play with and some good things can come from it. Cons, it has only one brush
realworldpaint - good for 2d art too. Also does a great job with 3d art but not as good as gimp. I like using this software along with gimp. This one is very easy to get used to. Working with textures is a breeze for this software.
Chasys Draw IES - this software takes alot of getting used to because it has soo many things on it. I will suggest this if you are a little advanced with digital drawing. Beginners might find it very difficult to get used to. It is awesome though.
Serif Drawplus Starter edition - This is in the ranks with gimp. It even comes with tutorials on a side bar in the software. The only time you would pay for it is if you want more features.
I have all these softwares and I have used all of them. They are all great to download.
