- They offer hot linking to files (with and without password protection)
- They've got a desktop app that rocks
- They've got a killer mobile app
- A bunch else...Cons
It would be cool if they gave unlimited everything for free!
Summary
If I had to choose just one file sharing service from the universe of available platforms, sendspace.com would definitely beit. First of all, these guys were one of the first out there in large file sharing (if not THE very first)! For a long time, they have been the best platform out there - going back to at least 2005 (or maybe before). I'm pretty loyal to them because in my work I have to transfer a lot of huge working video and audio files and they have never let me down in the 7+ years I've relied on their service. I can't say the same for some of the other imitation sites I've occasionally experimented with. Sendspace has a killer UI loaded with practical features that just make sense. The service is very usable and works prefectly! Sendspace pioneered large file sharing and so they know better then anyone how to do it right. I just got an Android phone and I was really happy about how tight the integration is between the sendspace's website, the desktop client and their mobile app. Sendspace also offers huge file sharing limits for free! For just a few bucks, they can get you into a truly massive file transferring situation. There is no doubt about it, Sendspace.com is by the far the best large file transfer service that you can get - and its free!
