"If Microsoft could write software this well..."

... they truly would be a legal monopoly. I've managed to crater, mutilate, destroy, and otherwise crash just about every other video software package on the earth doing simple things like... oh, capturing video or streaming it to the web. So far this could be the only application that's native to OSX that:
Works.
Works flawlessly
Supports any compliant camera
Has features that can actually be used as documented per the author
Doesn't suck processor bandwidth like a pig
Is apparently written by someone that doesn't subscribe to the 'more is less' theory and provides unique features not available in any other package that I've used thus far. This type of software is WHY I buy macs instead of wintel boxes. There is software that you must use, there is software that you can use, then there is software that you love to use because it's just too damned cool for words. This product is too damned cool for words, and if you don't buy it outright you really shouldn't own a camera connected to a mac running osx.
Now if I could only get Ben to rewrite WingZ or Nisus Writer for the mac I'd personally request knighthood for the man. A must own application. -
"Thanks again Ben"

I just wanted to post this to echo the statement, "If only all shareware authors were as polite and hardworking as this one, and if all products were improved as regularly as this...".
This program is really worth a lot more than the asking price, so thanks again Mr. Ben Bird and everyone who helped with this project's development. This gem of a program, in conjunction with semi-industrial grade wireless netcams (www.netcam.toshiba.com @ $500/unit) could potentially save my company MAJOR money (after calculating all expenses for a professional monitoring company over the course of a year). I'm talking possibly $45G to cover all possible entries as well as the entire roof surface of our building, which houses an enormous indoor swapmeet. I am excited to see just how well, and I am very confident, but we will see how it goes...challenging job to cover 300,000 sq. feet. Thanks again Mr. Bird for all your hard work...it really does show that even small developers can achieve wonderful results in the face of corporate sheeeiiiittt. So far its been a pleasure (small scale test before large investment) Keep up the wonderful work! -

I'm simply blown away at how cool this software is! For $50 it is a STEAL! It has so many super cool features. Motion detection is dead on. My favorite feature is how you can turn recording off unless motion is detected then tell it to record the previous X seconds BEFORE the motion was detected! Web serving functions are super simple and powerful. Frame rate controls, size, compression, all help make it work the way you want/need. Very cool. -

I currently use SECURITYSPY to protect our multi-million dollar inventory. I have looked at every other piece of software and none of them can compare with Ben Birds "SecuritySpy" I purchased a unlimited license and have 10 Apple iSight cameras covering my facility. IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY ! and the software is still in beta. The only thing the software is missing is sound. I got a e-mail from Mr. Bird who told me sound will be in a future release. Please support this truly great software, spread the word of mouth.

If all shareware authors were as polite and hardworking as this one, and if all products were improved as regularly as this is, shareware would have a much better image. I use this program to protect my entire company, and it works great. Especially nice with wireless IP cameras, which it supports. -

"Active to Passive"

I don't know if this just happens to me but the app changes from active to passive by itself. Can anyone tell me why? Also, once in a while, quits the app unexpectedly . Other than that, the app is a great tool! I wish it works for quickcam in the network. It only worked for me as a local device. Can anyone help? I'm planning to recommend this for my work. I hope the fee is not too much for them. To the developers, thanks for making a great app.
