    "Not that great"

by goldengreeke on March 6, 2006

Cons: I don't have a clue why Microsoft is messing around with this release instead of pooling it's resourses into getting the bugs out of IE 7 Beta 2. Security Browser is way to huge, 27MB compared to Opera's 3.6. Security Browser is not even up to Avant's standards as far as IE shells go, and not even close to Opera or Firefox.

Hi, why does not Microsoft make a better browser? Can they not? Lack of resources! Bad programmers, not clever enough! Maybe they like that Firefox has a market share of about 25 percent? Maybe they are not aggressive enough to respond to new market conditions? I think that the answers to all these questions are obviously, NO! It might be that they like some adware as "tracking cookies"? Can they make money on these "tracking cookies"? I love liberty and free enterprise and in that system, no one has the right to violate peoples rights (as property rights as yours and mine computers are our private properties) against there will, and install adware into theirs machines. Microsft is not installing adware by making a bad browser, but they might not be interested in making a good one. I must say also, I am not against Microsoft! They have revolutionized the market many times. The people have voted for them by bying their softwares! But I just do not think they want all adware to perish. I think that Microsoft has another definition on what is adware. I am just making a speculation! I like your reviews, goldengreeke! Good to "listen" to someone who knows more about softwares than I do! To you I say: 5 stars and two thumbs way up! Keep it on! Best Regards, Bjorn Lundahl, Gothenburg, Sweden

HI goldengreeke you are right of course most other browers are just Ie with different clothes on. As for the wires crossed bit, well there is no need for me to be rude it there, Just simply trying help if i can. I might yet get round to trying this program yet. Busy busy busy.

You might be correct on your reply, but when you eliminate Opera and Firefox, all that is left are IE shells, which are in Microsoft's pocket. You are 100% correct on the size, the rest is the NET Framework.....which it has to have. This isn't the first time my wires have been crossed.. that is much nicer than some reviewers might have stated. Thanks for the reply.

It would seem to me that goldengreeke has his wires crossed, this product has nothing to do with Microsoft. It merely uses Microsoft .NET architecture which a lot of non Microsoft programs use.

The Browser its self is only 3.36MB in size the 20something download is the actual .net program from Microsoft, which is where the confusion lies I think.
