Publisher's description
From Linden Lab (R) :Second Life is a 3D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. From the moment you enter the World you'll discover a vast digital continent, teeming with people, entertainment, experiences and opportunity. Once you've explored a bit, perhaps you'll find a perfect parcel of land to build your house or business. You'll also be surrounded by the Creations of your fellow residents. Because residents retain the rights to their digital creations, they can buy, sell and trade with other residents. The Marketplace currently supports millions of US dollars in monthly transactions. This commerce is handled with the in-world unit-of-trade, the Linden dollar, which can be converted to US dollars at several thriving online Linden Dollar exchanges.

Version: Second Life 1.13.3.2
Pros: A unique way of online socializing. A 3-D version of MySpace.com
Decent graphics
Cons: Graphics can be alot better. Program corrupted its own files upon exit of the software.
You must have a membership to get outside the tutorial island. And to do anything of value or interest like own land, buy virtual items, etc...you pay real money but only get virtual items in return.
Overall Second Life is of no real economic value to users unless they enjoy throwing money away and just having bragging rights to the best "world". If you want to play in a virtual world, The Sims is much better with better graphics and you don't have to spend real money to buy "things".

"Interesting idea, but not the results"
Pros: If you are into the sims or any other social game, you might feel attracted to this one, which is actually an online community with 3D avatars in an utopic social world.
Cons: The program runs slow and is too hard to understand some of the instructions, after 30 minutes of customizations I was bored (something that doesn't happen with the sims), apart of that is an expensive online community, which only novelty is the use of an animated version of yourself (or impersonation of someone else), but actually doesn't make you feel like you belong or actually interact with the others. Some of the graphics are nice, but the avatar still looks too "plastic" and lacks of human sensation. Honestly, I don't recommend it.

"Slow to figure out but well worth it!"
Pros: It is nice to take the chat room to a 3D level and to do things while chating.Plus it's nice to have a customizable avatar to show whome your chating with what you are realy like and not just what you say.
Cons: It's slow going if you have an older computer and to get any where other than vagabond status you have to shell out big (real) bucks.
