Heart failure is a chronic condition where the heart is not able to pump blood as effectively as it should. The probability of survival for a patient with heart failure depends on a number of factors, and can be improved by an range of treatments. This program uses data from six research studies on heart failure to calculate an individual patient's probability of survival with heart failure, and the potential benefit of various medical and surgical treatments. It is intended for use by medical professionals who are trained in the treatment of heart conditions, to help inform decisions on treatment, and counsel the patient. The user can choose kg or lbs for weight, and American or SI units for labs. This version will expire on August 1, 2008, but a new version will be available for download one month prior to that date.
