  "Does what it says"

  Pros

  Very simple interface with multiple options for a variety of different kinds of search criteria including searching for text or binary strings within files, and searching for duplicate files. It's easy to select the folder(s) or drive(s) to search, and you can limit the results by file size as well as the maximum number of found files returned

  Cons

  So far I haven't been able to get the help file to open - but all the options are laid out on the main screen, just need to try an option if you're not sure what it does.

  Summary

  Works quickly as described. Extremely flexible and configurable search options. You can run off a USB stick with not need to install on individual computers. Tiny programme (183 KB) that beats the microsoft version hands down

  "Either doesn't work or requires how-to files"

  Pros

  I could not complete even the most simple search.

  Cons

  I put a drive letter in "Base Folder" and partial file name in "File contains","text". Got no results. Tried adding Drive/folder to "base Folder", still nothing. Windows search found the file using only the drive. I'm not psychic and there are no instructions. I can't figure out how to complete even the simplest search.

  Summary

  If you are as experienced as C/Net's reviewer, you might like it. The rest of us are out of luck.
