    "My favourite browser"

    February 8, 2014  |   By PaulKB

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.24

    Pros

This is the only internet suite still being developed. In the early internet days Internet suites were more common. SeaMonkey integrates browser, email, and a simple (but for me adequate) html web editor. I love the integration between the browser and mail. Seamonkey uses the same rendering engine (GECKO) as Firefox and much of the low level functioning of the email component is shared with the ThunderBird email program. What makes SeaMonkey shine is the close integration between browser and mail. SeaMonkey is not the combination of FireFox and ThunderBird into one program. SeaMonkey is a number of tweaks to the user interface and a close integration between the browser and mail which creates an internet suite which functions much better for many users than a separate browser and mail programs.

    Cons

The only negative I am able to think of is that there is no mobile version of SeaMonkey for tablets and phones.

    Summary

Try SeaMonkey. It may become a favorit for browsing and email. Oh SeaMonkey does not force you to use its email program. If you prefer to use another email program you can set a preference in SeaMonkey so that when you click on an email address in the browser it will call up your email client of choice.

    Nice but incomplete interface.

Nice to play with. Won't put too much stock in it. Not until there's some serious amount of more work put into it.

"Awesome - Fast and user friendly"

    January 19, 2012  |

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.6.1

    Pros

I am an older retired woman and I like things user friendly. Seamonkey is, I play farmville - by Zynga (a game) and was surprised at how fast the game loaded. If you like things easy this is so much better than IE!!!

    Cons

    none so far

    "still a work in progress..."

    December 31, 2011  |   By danakao

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.6.1

    Pros

Reasonably fast; doesn't crash when some applications (such as Flash) are used

    Cons

Must use search engine to access a site--cannot go directly to a site just by typing in the web address.

    Summary

As I mentioned, still a work in progress. Hopefully more people will discover SeaMonkey and this browser will be more polished as a result.

    "Fairly reliable backup browser"

    December 1, 2011  |   By danakao

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.5

    Pros

Reasonably fast; I've experienced no crashes

    Cons

Not as versatile as more common browsers like Firefox, Chrome, or Safari

    Summary

Lack of versatility hurts this otherwise competent browser.

    "Does everything, fast and efficiently"

    May 8, 2011  |   By peripo

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.0.14

    Pros

    Fast, clean lines, very customisable

    Cons

    nothing i can think of.

    Summary

I downloaded SeaMonkey to give it a try because it was touted as being faster than all the rest. It's really good but doesn't do anything other browsers don't do and I don't find it any faster than Safari. I probably won't use it as my default but it's worth keeping and it updates it's add-ons automatically without fanfare like Firefox or IE.

"Love it but, CNET, get the download info right!"

    January 31, 2011  |   By ricklib

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.1

    Pros

Sea Monkey is my second favorite browser after Safari. Simple to use. Good for teaching kids.

    Cons

Only that CNET won't get the version number right. Very annoying and diminishes my confidence in them.

    Summary

    Good browser
