"It is the one necessary internet application for home"

June 13, 2010

 |  Version: SeaMonkey 2.0.4

Pros

It?s a secure browser, email client, html composer, & address book. It has built in cookie, image, popup, & addon managers. It's all needed internet services for home end user. It with Lightning extension is good for the home office & small business.

Cons

It doesn?t have built in calendar & holiday extensions for it; although it does have the Lightning extension.

Summary

SeaMonkey 2.0.4 the lesser know progeny of Mozilla may be the better choice for the home user. Its RAM print less than combination of Firefox and Thunderbird gives you all the features you need for a home office.

I use a word processor with programmable buttons & links; one button opens SeaMonkey Browser (navigator) feature to an encyclopaedia page.

In SeaMonkey with its support for multiple home pages & icons which open its main features of Mail & Newsgroups, Composer, Address Book, & IRC Chat I have an office and internet application. It has built in Search The Web, Translate Page, Cookie, Image, Popup, Clear Private Data, Download, & Add On managers. It supports extensions.

SeaMonkey 2.0.4 has an Add On manager for almost all the same extensions as Firefox and Thunderbird. I use Adblock Plus, BBCCodeXtra, BetterPrivacy, Cert Viewer Plus (for my VeriSign mail certs), Certificate Patrol, ChatZilla, Conspiracy, CS Lite, Display Mail User Agent, DOM Inspector, FoxyProxy Standard (Tor), JavaScript Debugger, Lightning, Minimize To Tray Plus, NoScript, Session Manager, WorldIP, & WOT.

Its multiple home page support provides the five pages of the reference % research that I need for my daily home office use. It includes the encrypted Google search.

My 14 email accounts become as one in SeaMonkey. I can sign or encrypt my mail.

The Secunia PSI has detected more exploits in the other browsers that I use than in SeaMonkey. As in other Mozilla products the updates are timely.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100317 Lightning/1.0b1 SeaMonkey/2.0.4

For the home user who wants performance and convenience I recommend Mozilla SeaMonkey.

"I LOVE IT!"

May 28, 2010  |  By ILuvComputers

 |  Version: SeaMonkey 2.0.4

Pros

This is my second favorite browser. I have tried many others and find myself always coming back to SeaMonkey as my second favorite. I primarily use Firefox and also like to use SeaMonkey.

Cons

Not enough themes and no personas for SeaMonkey. Once they have that in place for SeaMonkey. This browser will really take of. Some sites don't recognize SeaMonkey but I think that will soon change.

Summary

I highly recommend this browser for those who love Firefox. It's fun to use and a great sidekick to it's sibling Firefox.

"Browser, Email client, web composer bundled together"

May 02, 2010  |  By cowlitzron

 |  Version: SeaMonkey 2.0.4

Pros

Browser, email client and web composer integrated in one program.
Uses Gecko, most popular open source, multi-platform layout engine.
Adblock Plus and Noscript are available as extensions.

Cons

Only limited to a choice of three search engines in search pane.
No speed dial unless Firefox addon is changed for SeaMonkey.

Summary

A very good internet suite for those who want an email client and web composer bundled in. Recommended for former users of Netscape 4, 6 or 7 or former users of the Mozilla Application Suite. Could use more Firefox addons converted to support SeaMonkey.

"Fast & Practical"

May 01, 2010  |  By eatdrumz

 |  Version: SeaMonkey 2.0.4

Pros

Built in E Mail Client
Very Fast
Simple interface
Mozilla Add On's

Cons

Doesn't fully integrate with Robo-Form
Some site do not render correctly, Font bleeds into images

Summary

When I want to go online, do something fast, really, fast, I use this browser.
It's built on a Mozilla platform, and is lightening quick.
The E mail client works great, importing functions are intelligent, and the interface is simple, yet genius.
Since Firefox ruined their browser with version 3.6, I've been using this and Flock as my primary browsers.
The rendering problem may be something I am doing incorrectly, and Roboform passwords can be dragged and dropped, therefore the 5 rating.

This is an Excellent browser. I find it faster than even Opera, and I prefer Sea Monkey's layout as well.
It's what Firefox used to be. I'd love to see this little browser become more popular.
Fast, lightweight, yet powerful.

"SeaMonkey I love you"

April 06, 2010  |  By casper75

 |  Version: SeaMonkey 2.0.4

Pros

I've been using Seamonkey since the 1.0 days & it beats all the other browsers hands down, It has all my Internet needs in the one handy application so I don't have to worry about having a separate browser & e-mail program.

Cons

Would be nice if they had a few more themes but really that won't effect my rating.

Summary

Has everything I could ever want in the one handy application suite & with constant updates it's just as good as Firefox.

Pros

My opinion: Faster than IE and Firefox
Similar addons to Firefox
Works with most social sites, e.g. Facebook

Cons

Needs more themes
I like to lock toolbars but cant in seamonkey

Summary

I only use the web browser and I think its faster than any i've used. Ive used a lot, such as, Firefox, IE, Arora, Midori, and Flock. I would recommend this to my friends and/or family.
