An entire cottage industry dedicated to making screensavers has sprung up on the margins of the PC business. All it takes to get involved is a good idea and a software tool like this one. ScreenXP-Screensaver Maker provides a wide range of features for creating screensavers from a set of digital pictures, which can then be distributed or sold online. It can put shareware restrictions on the final products, limiting how long they can be used or how many slides can be shown. It can create a nag screen that will pop up in the middle of a screensaver's operation, or even generate random registration keys. It provides a range of customization settings that can be made available to the end customer. All of this power comes with a fairly steep price tag, but this could be a good investment for anyone who wants to create and sell screensavers online.
