    "Complete waste of time"

    June 6, 2009  |   By NonProfit09

    Version: ScreenFlow 1.5.2

    Pros

    Could not find any.

    Cons

The "No Limitations" trail is watermarked and completely useless.

    Summary

Trial is completely useless. If demo output is watermarked then this is a limitation. Please indicate so. I will by purchasing some sort of screencast software. It will not be Telestream's ScreenFlow. Save yourself the time and move on to another product.

    "ScreenBlow"

    April 10, 2009  |   By spectrumo

    Version: ScreenFlow 1.5.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The only mistake the previous commenter made was understating the lousiness of ScreenFlow support. ScreenFlow support, upgrades, etc are all absolutely r-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s. I continually get the same error as the previous commenter which goes way beyond the classification of "bug". This so called "error" renders the entire application completely useless! And then to waste what minimal support advice they offer to simply "pass the buck" off on a handful of other applications you might be running is pathetic.

During the advent of ScreenFlow, potential was it's most rousing asset. Since then ScreenFlow hasn't made any compelling advancements at all.

Add it all up and it's easy to see that ScreenFlow is a total bust. Save your time and money and check out worthy alternatives with better support and less arrogance to think that users are going to overhaul their systems just to be able to run ScreenBlow.

    "Impressive Results"

    Version: ScreenFlow 1.2.1

    Summary

Ever since I switched to Screenflow for my product screencasts, I've been getting compliments on how good the quality is. This, for me, is the premium screencast tool for the Mac. Well worth the money.

    "EXCELLENT"

    August 10, 2008  |   By Truth w Christ

    Version: ScreenFlow 1.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This program is excellent. 10 Stars.

I have one feature request and that is an automated way to select a standard Video dimension ie... 4 x 3 ratio etc... Otherwise this is so much easier to use than SnapZPro and does not have the renewable license pain in the XXXX that SnapZ Pro makes you go through every month.

    Highly Recommended.

"It is amazing, incredible and unbelievably cool."

    Summary

10 out of 10 Stars. I can't say enough about how great this program is. Amazing, Incredible and Stunning It is amazing, incredible and stunning. It does things that I did not even think were possible. I Just Started Using This Program I tried ScreenFlow for the first time a few days ago and am totally blown away by how great this software is. Things You Can Do You can zoom in and zoom out if you want to highlight something AFTER the video is made. You can record audio and add it to the video as an additional track AFTER the video is made. You can add music to your video AFTER the video is made. You can enlarge the cursor in the video AFTER the video is made. You can enlarge the window in the forefront AFTER the video is made. You can have it put a red circle around the cursor every time you click the mouse button to draw people's attention to it, and you can have it make a sound every time the mouse is button as well. You can have it put a spotlight on the cursor to highlight to focus somebody's attention. It Is In A Total Different League Than Snapz Pro This program is in a total different league than Snapz Pro. Used By Apple To Make Their Tutorials, I Assume I imagine that this is the software that Apple uses to make their tutorials. I've Used Snapz Pro For 4 Years And Made 75-100 Videos I've used Snapz Pro for 4 years and have probably made 75-100 tutorial videos for my father to show him how to do things on his Mac. I liked Snapz Pro for the fact that I could make videos. However, ScreenFlow completely and totally blows away Snapz Pro. It is ridiculous to compare the two. It would be like comparing a professional basketball player to a child in 5th Grade child who is the star of his basketball team. "Great Software"

    May 12, 2008  |   By vt_comments

    Version: ScreenFlow 1.1.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I love ScreenFlow. I had been using some other screen capture software but nothing compares to this. I still don't understand how it works (it captures raster data as vector?!) but that's the key bit, it works. ScreenFlow is elegant software and where other software ends at the capture stage, SF really excels in the post-recording editing (all in real time with no rendering). The only place it is lacking is in titling. If the developers add this, it will be a perfect application.

    "GREAT FEATURES, BUT..."

    April 18, 2008  |   By donking2

    Version: ScreenFlow 1.0.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Have been using the program for a few months now (in trail mode). Beats out Snapz Pro in every way. Great features: zoom in/out of any section of the screen/at any time of the movie (determined at the editing stage, yes, there's an editing stage, not during the initial recording); ability to add multiple tracks (audio/video) similar to Final Cut (again, in the editing stage); when clicking the mouse, a click sound can be recorded; if wanted, the keys pressed will show up on the screen as type; the cursor can be highlighted, in different ways, at any time; and lots more. I especially like saving a recording in the H.264 codec (small file size/good qualtiy). In Snapz Pro, using H.264, the final result is always washed out and not true to the original color. In ScreenFlow, I've noticed a big improvement over Snapz Pro, the color in H264 is pretty close to the original screen. So, I hear you say, with all these great features, why did I give such a bad star rating. Answer: STABILITY!!! This program constantly crashes. It has a few other minor bugs and a few strange window settings for saving (all of which, I think, will eventually be straightened out). But stability is key. Without that, all the rest doesn't matter. And I'm sure the developers know about this problem, because they added a 'try to restore' feature after a crash. Bottom line: I create screen casts all the time and I wish this thing would work without the constant crash problems. But until it is a lot more stable (the next version or so?) I'm keeping the 100 bucks under my pillow.
