Version: Screen Print & Capture 32 3.5
"You dont need this"
Cons: What I dislike about this (and most other screen capture programs) is that it capitalizes on the fact that most people dont know they can capture the screen just by pressing Prt Scr for the whole screen or Alt + Prt Scr for the active window. The screen is then available on the Windows clipboard and you can paste it into Paint to print it or save it to file.
If you need to capture screens, then you also need to do something with them, other than just saving or printing them. I use a little program called the M8 Multi Clipboard. Let me tell you about it: - Whenever you press Prt Scr or Alt+Prt Scr and Windows captures the screen to the clipboard, M8, being a multi clipboard also captures it. But it doesnt just offer the ability to save it. You can crop it, rotate it, size it, add text, add clip art arrows, and draw on it. You can even take several screen shots, cut the bits you want and combine them into a single graphic. And thats just thrown in as an extra to its main purpose as a multi clipboard!

I totally disagree. what if you want to capture a specific area or multiple windows but not the same screen. I found many uses. and Im a Software developer and alreay knew about the built in screen capture.
Also it's free so how do you capitalize -
I have to agree with 'crossed'. While the windows options are fine, they are also limited. I have for many years used Faststone's Screen Capture, but, due to my own stupidity, I completely deleted it from the hard drive. The new version is now shareware, rather than free, so I've just downloaded Screen Print 32 3.5 to trial. The point is that I do a lot of 2D graphic work & often want to capture a rectangular area within a window rather than the whole window, & occasionally a free-hand defined area. Faststone had all these abilities & I used it constantly for such. I'm hoping the this app will fill the void in my programs! (I'll get back to you on that!). I think the use of the word 'capitalizes' is a bit strong too, as it implies some ulterior motive behind the offer of the FREE program. And purely for the record, I often capture an image, by whatever method, & just keep it in a folder (o.k. - the intent is to something with it, but the best laid plans of mice..........)

Great tip. Really appreciate learning something I've never known about.

For myself I found it very useful to know about prtSc. Many users don't capture that much of their time. Most right click and "save as" an image - if they want just a certain area. But capturing a certain area is a useful feature and once will SOMETIMES save time. I think it has less to do with being really effecient and more that most of us just like the idea we have a machine set up to handle anything with minimum messing about. How much time it really saves is an interesting question.. It will for some I am sure. If you do it 20 times a day it might save a good 15 minutes a day! But how many of us do? At least you know you always have prtSc on whichever machine you use. So I thank this review a lot for letting me know, and the comment for telling me about capturing a certain area.

Whilst all these comments are true, Screen Print 32 3.5 allows you to define just a small section of the screen if required and then save the image with only a few clicks of the mouse saving lots of time editing and the resulting files are small with no need to search out the compress option, which in a lot of applications is simply not available.
This free utility saves me lots of time but like most free utilities there is always another one around that will offer that bit more. But sometimes less is more so for those who'll never need anything more why use up more memory than necessary?
