Version: SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition 3.9.1008
"I used to think this was good"
Pros: it is easy to use has good detection/removal rates updates often and is FREE
Cons: 1. quick scan is slow compared to others
2. when it does find a baddie most of the time you have to reboot your pc to remove it ??
3. just try to uninstall it , then go to program files and see how much stuff it leaves behind that DOES NOT want to be deleted !!!

If anyone has noticed, I have steered clear of this app for the most part. Although I have tried it several times inclyding the new version on ny Vista PC, I've never kept it. I also never hsd an issue uninstalling it but I know of others wuo have It's really not a big deal as I am an experienced user and learned a long time ago, to alyways check the C: program file after uninstall. Fortunatly, I don't have to depend on free any more. I use "Counter Spy" and "a-squared 3.0 full". But the only 2 free AS apps I will recommend are "Spyware Terminator" and "AdAware SE" ( not 2007). You did the right thing by getting rid of this app my friend. It reminds me of "AVG Free". it's ugly. I won't post another review on it, vote any of the good reviews not helpfull nor will I use it. I'm comming back to download.com as a member of a new pack who's sick and tired of the garbage that goes on here. Peace my friend, I'm out!!!!!

NO SpywareInfo has never openly advertised for SUPERAntiSpyware.but most of the STAFF did but now they dont as they have had a lot of people with the removal problem..

MOST PEOPLE dont bother to go and look in the program files when a program has been uninstalled as they trust the fact that it says it has been uninstalled..

im have not given this app 2 stars just like that(check out my profile) i had this app for over a year but i have found my other AS apps are just as good and much quicker scan times and no need to reboot pc
spyware warrior lits are just a guide and not perfect .
they have still got Spyware Terminator listed as suspect spyware.

SpywareInfo has never openly advertised for SUPERAntiSpyware. SpywareWarrior has had SAS on there recommended product list for a year+ now, (only 6 other products are on that list).
I think you are confused or blatantly wrong. Also only a select few on Download.com seem to have this mysterious removal problem. Bullguard forums, Dell support forums, CastleCops, SpywareWarrior, WIldersSecurity all recommend SAS and don't have any issues with mysterious uninstall issues.

i have been to a few forums that have said about problems with uninstall but did not no for sure till i uninstall it myself ..
if you go to spywareinfo they don't recomend SAS anymore either where they did before..

It RECOMMENDS that you remove your PC. Most spyware will hook on startup. Utilizing SAS's first chance prevention upon startup allows it to ensure that the baddie is dead. It's a good idea to make sure your system is totally clean.
Haven't heard much about an unclean install on the other forums so I can't comment. Each person's system is radically different. *shrug*
