"Even free, it;'s not very effective."
Pros: But, hey, you get what you pay for. Other then the spyware guard, it's the same application as the paid version. It runs fine with "Vista" but unlike someone else, I had no problems uninstalling it. Maybe thats on "Vista'. But I have no doubts it could be a problematic application. I've read some reviews and comments that said "you can never be over protected". I just don't think thats true. With good software installed, extra applications that you don't use often aren't necessary, just wasted disk space. But, I guess if you are depending on free security for your computer, it can't hurt to have it.
Cons: It ran slow, even on a powerful machine. It found nothing. The GUI reminds me of "AVG Free" , it's horrible. The data base is small. Very small if you compare it to "A-Squared Free 3". It's much better at everything then this one and has a huge data base. Thats what I recommend if you need a good, free, malware scanner.

"I used to think this was good"
Pros: it is easy to use has good detection/removal rates updates often and is FREE
Cons: 1. quick scan is slow compared to others
2. when it does find a baddie most of the time you have to reboot your pc to remove it ??
3. just try to uninstall it , then go to program files and see how much stuff it leaves behind that DOES NOT want to be deleted !!!

Pros: Despite the name, this software is simple but VERY effective at detecting spyware. The interface is user friendly and easy enough to use for a novice. This software is way above average performance for a freebie. I currently use Ad-aware and spybot, but this software is as good... if not better. I experimented by running Ad-aware of which had found 1 minor spyware entry of which i deleted, i then ran 'Spybot of which had found nothing whatsoever and i then ran 'Superantispyware' of which found a further 6 problems. (of which Ad-aware & Spybot had both missed!) Although the free version of 'Superantispyware' does not include 'real time' protection this programme beats the famous 'Ad-aware' free version. You can select either a 'quick scan' or a 'complete' scan but remember to 'un-check' the system icon tray at the 'start-up' options as this is for real time protection ONLY which is avaliable with the paid version. (it would be pointless to run this continuously if you are using the FREE version) I am seriously tempted to purchase the paid version...but the FREE version offers more than average performance. This software also comes with a very useful tool: [" Find out what's running on your computer"] This tool will give you a list of exactly what programmes you have installed and if they are potentially dangerous or not. Unknown programmes could pose a threat and this software (built in) will alert you to any unknown and/or dangerous programmes. This is a fantastic piece of software through and through and i cannot fault it whatsoever.

Pros: it works like it's suppose to. i try out most of the anti spyware apps. i've kept this one as a back up.
Cons: scans are real slow. wants to start up with windows but doesn't have real time protection. not really cons, just prefferances.

"A nice, extra line of protection"
Pros: Does what it claims. Finds a few extra nasties which were missed by my other programs.
