"A Must Have"

Pros
Works great on my 1000 slot Shoutcast server 1000slots.tk easy to set up and you can have over 8,000 songs and set SAM not to repeat the same song for 15 days. Its a must have for any Album Rock station just get licensed @ http://startinternetradio.tk
Cons
At $300 its expensive. I'd recommend 8GB ram for Windows 7 as it does suck up some resources.
Summary
Sam Broadcaster is a must have JD software for anyone who is serious about broadcasting. Their AGC Audio settings are awesome if you know what your doing.

"Not for Pro Audio"

Has easy to use interface, all the right tools. File transfers are fairly simple.
Cons
This is a very unstable program. Requires constant re-booting and 15 round boxing matches with SQL servers. Also, forget about using any usb outboard gear such as an external audio interface.
Summary
Paying 300 clams(v.4) for this program and then being forced to use discount store booms and mics just does not make sense. This is good for playing your personal favorites over the net but not for any serious on air projects.

"When SAM crashes - and it will - you're screwed."

Relatively easy to configure. Allows re-naming tracks, creating different folders and then pointing to them as needed.
Cons
In the past 4 months, our SAM. has crashed TWICE, meaning that every single change made - naming tracks, adding info to tracks, setting the frequency (0-100) - vanished, and we had to start from scratch. Months of work wasted! No customer support.
Summary
Although the actual music files on your hard drive are unaffected, there is no way to back up all the information and configuration you add to your tracks in S.A.M. if it crashes - and judging by our experience, it WILL crash at some point. AVOID!

I believe that my web clients in the music production and mass communication fields will enjoy the ease of use. The sound quality is great.
Cons
I have not encountered problems with this product/service as of yet. If I do, the tech support appears to be extremely high-tech and will have a solution.
Summary
All that is needed to make this program a success is a team of persistent people, the right compatible software and time to test and document as you are implementing this broadcasting product. From there, it should be music, news feeds, announcements or what ever it is you want/need a personal radio station for.
