CNET Editors' review
Even if your router is supported by this free Firefox extension, Router Status may cause more problems than it solves. Just like its name suggests, it lets you quickly check the status of certain routers.
Router Status adds only a tiny icon to the status bar. Hovering our mouse over the icon introduced a window that contained our hostname and local IP. Right-clicking on the icon introduced the menu options. A list of routers is easy to use, but it didn't hold the right model for all testers. These testers chose the closest match. After setup, the Router Control Panel option directs you to your router's login page. Unfortunately, it failed to display any other information. On top of that, browser speed slowed almost to a halt. On several occasions, testers lost their Internet connection altogether. As soon as the extension was disabled, all was well.
Even if you find your router is listed by Router Status, you should proceed with caution with this iffy Firefox extension. It may be free, but it has some flaws that diminish its effectiveness.
