They lie. I bought multiple copies over years with the promise of FREE upgrades. Now they have changed their policy and will not provide free upgrades.
Summary
They are crooks, plane and simple. They they are within their right to offer new terms to new users but they can not change a contract on existing users. They have broken their contract with users DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. USE LASTPASS or KeePass

I used to like roboform because it worked like a dream. Then they upgraded it and the auto update came up, and I wase, supposed to have free updates, so I did it, and then I was screwed and I've been screwed since, even though I DID buy the new version. It doesn't work right and still tells me to upgrade all the time. :(

Internet sleeze aimed at suckering the innocent into buying and downloading programs they don't need or want.
Summary
This is NOT a review about RoboForm, except that they use CNET to distribute their program. I have learned painfully to be very careful in navigating CNET's Web page. It is designed to distract and confuse. I gave it one star only because I was unable to give it NO (ZERO) star, which it deserves.
The faster RoboForm can replace CNET the better.
The one RoboForm irritation is that it has an unwelcome habit of alerting a user to an upgrade in the middle of things. More useful would be to give the option of upgrading after one has closed out of work. -
"Roboform-Siber Systems Dishonest!"

Roboform is dishonest. After advertising free upgrades they reneged on their word and have said to their users that they must PAY. Since Roboform version 7 is REQUIRED for Firefox 6 (or 5, or 4!) all must succumb to their piracy.
Summary

I'm happy to report that within 48 hours of filing a report here, that Roboform/Siber systems upgraded my license.

If this Russian based company is unethical enough to break their word regarding upgrades, are they unethical enough to sell my passwords to the Russian mob? *gulp*

If anybody from Roboform/Siber systems reads this... you shouldn't just be doing this for your customers that complain in public venues. You should proactively be doing this for all customers that you sold under the "free upgrades" offer. That's the RIGHT thing to do! -

Good product. Used it for years and was overall pretty happy with it.
Cons
Don't honour the terms of their upgrade agreement so I won't trust them with my card details. Unfortunately they (Siber systems) committed the cardinal sin of reneging on the original purchase terms and so they will never see any of my money again.

I now use LastPass.

Long term user with 4 "LIFETIME" licenses always been happy until bombshell that lifetime does not mean what it says.
Cons
Upgrades are now limited to minor versions without further payments.
Summary
How can a company sell something with a lifetime upgrade license then ask for payment to upgrade? This is underhand and I advise all steer clear of them.

The v6 product works well.
Cons
I won't upgrade a product just for a browser change. I've been a long time user. I understand the need for revenue, but a minor update to v6 to work with Firefox 4 is not too much to expect, especially since they did support the FF4 beta.
Summary
I suspect some executives at Siber Systems are unaware or don't care about their self-inflicted damage to their reputation.
