Roboform put its effort into moving to the cloud instead of delivering a product that works. I learned this after hours of effort.
Find an alternative.

Once promised as free upgrades, the makers of Roboform have unilaterally changed the licensing terms, deciding it is much better to extort money for each browser upgrade. New FF version? That'll cost you $19. New IE came out? Pay $29 for support.
CNET really needs to re-review this product, as it is hardly what it used to be, nor is the pricing scheme.
Think I'm just exaggerating? Go ahead and buy it.
Next time you upgrade your browser, you'll notice how some important function of the app no longer works and you'll be required to re-buy the app for continued support.
FireFox 4 and Roboform worked perfectly until the FF 4 beta went to FF 4 release, then, mysteriously, Roboform stopped working and magically a new "version" (v7) of roboform came out, and the "upgrade" price is more than the original (v6) cost new. The devs will tell you Roboform v6 never worked with FF 4, but anyone who used it up until release day can say otherwise. They simply REMOVED support for FF 4 when they put out their new version (which is simply a repackage of the same old version).

I tried to get Roboform for my android phone. The product they sell for that application is Roboform Everywhere. Unfortunately it is being marketed with an annual license. I really hate that. They also neglected to mention that I had to upgrade my desktop version from 6 to 7 at a cost of $29.95 if I actually planned on using Roboform Everywhere. Roboform used to be a very nice company. Now they are behaving like a company that was recently purchased by greedy corporate slackers who didn't lift a finger to develop anything and want to make gobs of money on someone else's product. Either that or they've had a recent corporate aneurism. To add insult to injury, when I phoned them, the only option was to leave a voice mail message. They also do not have an e-mail address. Really.....?? A software company that only accepts snail mail??

Now after the Bait and Switch (legal term in many states) i cant continue to leave my VERY important personal data with a company that i cant turn my back on... Just wondering how long it will take until I have to send a ransom check for MY data?

A few weeks ago I had to "update" my RF software because of a new version of Firefox. Downloaded it and launched it-no problems. This morning when I click on Roboform to fill in a password link, I get notice that I have to pay to upgrade my license...ended up costing $40.
I would have sworn when I bought version 6 pro, it was a license with "lifetime updates", but evidently that was only to version 6. Also the thing sort of holds you hostage-not sure I would remember all the passwords I entrusted to RF.
Ended up paying for the updates, but the whole thing left a bad taste. I am actively looking for a new password manager, and will no longer recommend Roboform or Sieber Systems to anyone.
And yes, I am sure that they are perfectly within their legal rights as defined in the usual 20 page EULA that no one in their right mind is ever going to read. -

Standalone, good for those who store a lot of different password. Roboform Everywhere - Easy to remove from your computer.
Cons
Everywhere, deletes ALL your stored records, then the company tells you have to buy an additional product to recover everything it just deleted. RIP OFF

BUYER BEWARE. Roboform tries to convince you that their Everywhere product is a good deal. I tried it and it seemed to work, then one day, EVERYTHING got nuked...I have nothing. Contacted Support and they tell me there are 35 logins that are saved in the back, but you have to purchase GOODSYNC to get those files out of the backups. That is good, except that I had over 100 logins in my profile PRIOR to buying Roboform Everywhere. So where are the otehr 65+ logns that got destroyed?

I like RoboForm and have been using it for years. Easy to use and convenient.
Cons
Doesn't work with an increasing number of forms. When i first bought RoboForm it came with free life time upgrades. RoboForm no longer honours this agreement with the release of version 7.
Summary
Their discounted upgrade offer is disappointing given their prior promise of free upgrades.I won't be upgrading on principle nor continuing to recommend this product. In the current economic climate companies cannot afford to isolate their loyal customer base.
