"Riptiger 3.4.3 works faster"

I updated my riptiger with the latest 3.4.3 version, and I can say it works much faster. The speed of capturing & converting is brisk as lightning. I love this program!

Captures hulu videos, as well as those from youtube and such. does a great job with conversion to xvid format as well.
Cons
sometimes you have to remove your last capture, including the commercials hulu has before starting your next video capture, or it doesn't work.
Summary
I was lucky enough to get this program for free after commenting on one of their posts on Facebook. It used to only work on ie7 and Maxthon, but now it works on the latest Firefox, which is my default browser. I was looking for a favorite show and found it, and it captured and converted to Hulu no problem, after installing the conversion suite it encourages you to install. I checked advanced ripping tool to make sure it captures it, but so far I haven't used it. Great update.

"Good when it works but NOT when it often doesn't"

Ultimate downloads from any website and converts automatically.
Cons
Constantly crashes and interferes with lots of things on your computer like booting up, e-mail boot up, slows operations dramatically and has caused my computer to go into 'crash defensive mode'. I have had to uninstall and install 6 times last year and 3 times so far this year. The last time I was unable to uninstall and had to download an uninstaller program from CNet.
Forget customer service. No phone only e-mail. Your inquiry is just routed to someone at a desk in Singapore or somewhere around there. They just have a manual in front of them and I have never made contact with anyone who knows anything about computers. They just regurgitate what is in the 'playbook' and send you a 'stamped' response. I don't think they even understand the problem, especially with constant crashing let alone registry or any other computer related things that could be interfering with their program (or vice versa).Summary
When the product works it works very well but when it doesn't it really doesn't !

"Why Pay For Free You Tube Downloader?"

1)It seems to work well with You Tube videos.
Cons
1)It only consistently downloads You Tube videos. There are free programs to do that. Other sites are hit or miss.
2)The "on/off" button is the pits. If you don't watch it you will download a bunch of crap to have to later delete. It doesn't always start right away when you turn it back on at a site..
3)Sometimes the download won't even start no matter what you do.
4)Downloads in the window sometimes disappear when the program closes. If you haven't converted them you cannot get them back into the window.
5)The "manage" option in the "My Downloads" folder doesn't allow you to manage anything but normal file operations.
6)The "URL" option opens up a new window if you are already at the website. You then have two windows running. The "download only" and "watch while downloading" then becomes confusing when you have both the site viewing and video viewer seemingly competing.
7)Viewing with the built-in video viewer requires clicking the "pause" button first to complete the loading.Summary
I would strongly suggest that you download and test the program rather than just buy it outright. You may be surprised at the actual performance versus the claimed performance. You should also carefully read the "warranty" on the website (at least the refund clause) and not just rely on the "satisfaction guaranteed" splash on the website. I found out the hard way. The "tech" interpretation of the refund provisions seems to be much broader than it would appear to the buyer. You face extensive technical troubleshooting which requires uploading a program-generated summary of your ("non-sensitive")computer information. There are less expensive and free programs that do some of the basic functions of this program and allow better control over download operations.

"Riptiger never responds on customer support"

Pros
Since it is not working properly, it's hard for me to evaluate it fully. It seems to download stuff OK, but disconnects from time to time and you lose the video.
Cons
1) It disconnects from the website too much and I lose the video.
2) The program will not stay in taskbar despite setting preferences to do so.
3) Does not complete video conversion to MP4 format (hangs forever).Summary
I set my preferences for the program to stay in the taskbar when I close it, but it does not appear in the task bar, so I cannot access it from the task bar, and and when I click on the desktop icon, it says the program is already open/running. Since I can't access it from the taskbar or the desktop icon, I have to keep the program open all the time. If I close it, I have to re-boot my computer to be able to open it again.
The summary contains an error. It should say that "Out of 12 files, 4 of them hung (did NOT complete the conversion after waiting 4 hours).
It also has issues with converting the videos to MP4 format. Out of 12 files, 4 of them hung (did complete the conversion after waiting 4 hours). I had to turn off the conversion option to avoid having to re-boot my computer every time it hangs. Once you reboot, you lose the files that are being downloading/downloaded and the Ultimate version will no longer let you convert the files (must be done during download).
I have sent two emails for tech support and after four days I received a generic advertising response (see RipTiger response below). It seems all they care about is badgering people to say they like the program, but they don't appear to answer your tech support requests.

I also should have mentioned that I have plenty of RAM (4GB) and have no problems with any other software on my computer. -

Easily downloads videos from many different websites, I do think the app can capture any video on ANY website, but haven't tried that many so far. The speed is high, the downloads complete in a few sec. Besides all downloads are launched automatically when I visit this or that website, so don't need to bother clicking start or whatever. RipTiger does all the work instead of me, which is really cool.With this app you have also possibilities to convert the downoladed file to the format you actually need, because the converting feature is built-in.

No complaints, works as advertised: easily, fast and without any bugs to worry about

I have been using Rip Tiger for many years, has been reliable and excellent up to now.
Cons
Only problem just came up with 3.3.8 wherin MALWAREBYTES (which I also use) flags two of Rip Tiger's routines as dangerous Trojan's and disables them thus rendering Rip Tiger non-operative.
Stop gap solution is to disable MALWAREBYTES before activating Rip Tiger, not what I like but workable.
I have emailed both Rip Tiger and MALWAREBYTES on this several times and have received not so much as a response.
This is in my mind not good for a major piece of software, both of these are popular.
