"Messes up window behavior"
Version: Right Zoom 1.81
It does actually make the green button behave like a maximize button
Makes new windows open behind active ones.
I've used RightZoom since Lion, ever since I've been puzzled by the tendency of Mac OS X to open up new windows behind others. I had this behavior with Lion, Mountain Lion, and Mavericks.
When doing Alt-Cmd to open up a Finder window, I could see it flash and disappear, and then I'd need to do it again to actually get Finder to the foreground. I thought for a while this was a bug in XtraFinder, but not so.
Today, I was frustrated with iOS simulator opening up behind of Xcode every time it launched, and seeing the opposite behavior on my colleague's Mac (also behaving properly on Alt-Cmd with XtraFinder installed), I decided to go hunting for the problem. Turned out that the culprit is RightZoom.
Luckily, I don't really need it anymore, as I'm already using BetterTouchTool for other things, and here I've set up keyboard shortcuts for maximizing and restoring window sizes.
"No longer works correctly when using Mavericks"
Version: Right Zoom 1.81
It worked wonderfully in all previous versions of Mac OS X that I tried.
Since upgrading to Mavericks it won't maximize a window anymore.
If you aren't using Mavericks, get it. You will love it. I can't recommend it for Mavericks users, though.Oops. Right Zoom suddenly started working for me in Mavericks. I have no idea why it didn't work before and does now. Can I change my rating to 5 stars now? Or just delete my review altogether?
