This software was terrible, only finds the obvius and nothing more. Why is a fast scan good? it is not, slower scans are actually better in many cases. I tried it to recover lost data on our cell phone memory card test but it failed. eProvided.com a full service data recovery company has a better chance with these issues.

It work if your HD does not defrag after the delete. Working properly.
Cons
Not for user who like to defrag his pc frequently.
Yeah, it can detect the files, but after restoration, the content is not similar. It has been replace by current code in the same address.

I like this product because everyone has accidently emptyd his recycle bin once, so it's very useful. It can be used on harddisks, portable usb devices and memory cards (SD, etc.). You can also arrange the files thru date, alfabet and type. It's freeware, no adds. You can take it on a usb-device, it's a standalone .exe file.
Cons
Sometimes the things you deleted aren't there, and they can be damaged to.

leading file restoration softwares are all very expensive. this one is free and faster than the paid ones. instead of scanning everything at one go it politely asks you if you want vacant clusters to b scanned, and if you've already found your file you can say no and thus save a lot of time. no adware, malware, spyware either...the bottomline - it does its job!
Cons
recovered files are not always readable, this is true esp of data files. media files - audio and video are usually undamaged...but dll, bak, dat files were damaged and couldn't be read or restored.

I downloaded "Simple File Shredder 2.5" for the purpose of cleaning up 2 hard drives on an old PC before giving it to my nephew. I had a lot of personal information and such that I didn't want anyone to have access to. After using the file shredder I downloaded this program to test it to see if I could restore any of the shredded files. Guess what! I was a able to restore files deleted from both hard drives!!! That was a surprise - So I used the function on this Restoration program to permanently delete the files which does so by writing over them and changing file names etc. and success. I recommend this to anyone that needs to either restore a file or needs to make sure files can't be restored.
Cons
I have no cons to list. If a program does what it is intended to do and it's free then there is nothing to complain about.
