"When it works, it is awesome"
Pros
Well, as advertised, this is a tiny little program that lets you record dvds or screen capture without using lots of bandwidth. For me, this means a much better picture. When I got it, I loved it.
Cons
It doesn't always work. I know there is a method to the madness. . . It records hulu, but it only records some amazon. The big problem is, you don't know til the end of the recording. You have to record the whole thing then see it if the file took.
Summary
I have two other, larger, paid programs, and I try them first. After all, I can see them recording, and I know if it is working if the video is all choppy. If they don't work well, I open up this little program. About 60-75% of the time, it produces a usable file. So, I am glad to have it for a last ditch effort.

It looks like the version they offer now has been updated/replaced since you've purchased. I can record everything on my screen no matter what i'm doing. I have the current version and do not have any of the issues you mention above. I highly recommend the version they currently offer is totally awesome. Its also very simple to use i'm just very impressed hi-def quality and everything i love it
