"When you buy it, can only be registered a few times"

    April 1, 2013  |   By Iwontbackdown

    Version: Replay Media Catcher 4.4.5

    Pros

It works most of the times even though it has some problems with file names

    Cons

I bought it a few years ago. Since 2 years ago, anytime I need to reinstall it after a system upgrade, I get the message "sorry, serial registered too many times". I contacted them, the first time they allowed me to registered, now I have been waiting for a few days and they still have to answer. What they do is illegal because they should advice their customers about their limited usage BEFORE they buy it.

    Summary

DON'T BUY IT! Buy another program from a more reliable and honest company

"System freezed - no Internet anymore (Win7 64bit)"

    September 18, 2012  |   By mrwul

    Version: Replay Media Catcher 4.4.4

    Pros

Fairly easy to use - includes quite a lot of feature

    Cons

With me: Whilst downloading a number of YouTube Replay Media Catcher was freezing my system. Reason: no Internet connection. There was no way to access my modem (using telnet). The only way to get my system working again is by killing RMC thru the taskmanager.

Have spent many, many hours (when adding up maybe even a few days!) to try and solve the issue. Endless support exchanges, video clips, screen captures and so on. In the end I got tired of waiting for support feedback and I removed the program.

    Conclusion: Waste of money!

"Works on a site, then doesn't; then works, then doesn't"

    December 23, 2011  |   By jazjef

    Version: Replay Media Catcher 4.3

    Pros

Has a lot of features; records without having to stay on the page the video is on; the coolest application you'll ever own that doesn't work on 85% of the websites you want it to work on.

    Cons

1)Cat-And-Mouse game over and over_____RMC works with a website....then the site learns how to block RMC types of apps...then RMC figures out how to get around the site-block....then the site figures out how to block RMC again....then RMC figures out how to get around the block....you get the idea.
2)_____No instructions on how to get it to work with specific websites----this is because Applian is clearly aware of #1 above; there's no way they could keep such instructions updated

    Summary

Get the demo and test it on sites that offer QUALITY FLV cartoon videos...like Disney Jr; Nick Jr.; Kids-WB. You'll quickly see why you don't want it---these sites can block RMC types of apps. And there are a lot of free YouTube downloaders out there if you just want to capture other videos. In the end, it just becomes a platform for video conversion or audio capture/extraction etc that you have to pay for.

    August 14, 2011  |   By OffDWall

    Version: Replay Media Catcher 4.3

    Pros

Didn't try to force load a bunch of toolbars

    Cons

Doesn't say it in the notes but after install it tells you that it limits the file to 50% of the original information.

"Version 4 captures every stream I've tried accept Hulu"

    July 10, 2011  |   By 01001010

    Version: Replay Media Catcher 4.2.8

    Pros

Simple and easy to use interface. Very stable program running on Windows 7 64-bit. Automatically fixes flv files after completing download.

    Cons

A Purchased licensed version reverts back to the limited demo version if Applian's servers go down. Will not capture Content from Hulu.com or Netflix.

    Summary

Having a piece of software, that I paid $40 for, revert back to the demo version because their licensing server is down is unacceptable to me. Great Program, but terrible anti-piracy strategy that only affects their paying customers.

"Good at everything except assigning names to songs"

    April 26, 2011  |   By SPIRO737TAG

    Version: Replay Media Catcher 4.2.1

    Pros

Stable, well-designed program for recording internet radio stations. Records mp3 files from Pandora and attempts to assign a name to each song, which is where the software is weak in my experience.

    Cons

Replay Media Catcher 4.2.1 is not able to identify about half of the jazz songs I record from Pandora, which is pathetic since Pandora makes the names freely available! So my hard drive is loaded with unidentified songs.

    Summary

The company's tech support girl suggested that I solve this problem by sitting in front of my computer all day and manually type in the names of the songs as they are being recorded. I told her that, in my opinion, that function should be provided by the software.
