Version: Repel for Outlook 1.0
"Seemless integration to Outlook, but it isn't doing much for me"
Summary: The way Repel integrates into Outlook is great - just as advertised. The controls are simple, and I have not noticed any decrease in Outlook's performance whatsoever.
That being said, I'm not sure what it is doing. It rarely detects spam as it comes in. I can mark the items as spam and the program sends the information off to the spam list, but the spam just keeps coming in.
To be fare, I have to say that the spam coming in does appear to be from different accounts, altough the subject and message are often the same.
My email account is listed on a couple of web sites because I am a webmaster for them. I think I get so much spam due to web-crawlers stripping off the email adress from the web site.
It seems to me I need a anti-spam program that has a better answer for emails coming from different sources each time.
The only real negative comment I have for Repel, is that the internet "database" of known spam senders used by Repel, must not have even 10% of the email addresses used by people who spam me.
Try the program - it might work for you.
