"Look for Something Else"
Version: Remove Duplicate Pictures 9.47
Allows you to see pictures side by side, and some fuzzy logic in comparison, to compare edited versions with those not yet edited (instead of seeing onlly the non-edited with non-edited, and edited with edited) in case you no longer want originals.
Forces you to rename all your files. All I wanted to do was find duplicates, can't do that without the renaming part kicking in. Renaming wizard starts upon launch and defaults to start upon program start.
The side-by-side comparison is great. I was able to see pictures that were not 100% alike, because something had been edited, but they looked similar enough that they might be duplicates. The problem was I don't know how safe the deleting is because that is locked (will it really move them to my play it safe folder for further evaluation). My big issue is, however, I am happy with the names I have given my files. I rename according to events (J'sB-day for instance). I don't remember the day it happened, just the name of the event. It doesn't give you the option to leave names intact, and you to put everything into a new folder that it creates. I have a file structure I am happy with. I just want to find the duplicates that are eating my hard drive space.
In short, look for something else. I know I am.
