    "Doesn't even deserve a rating"

    February 13, 2014  |   By H3yJud3

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

    Zero Zilch Nada

    Cons

This program messed three of my computers up big time. One totally messed up Office 2013 to the point where I had to reinstall. The second one it would not update Windows and the third one and probably the most serious was it removed my computer at work from our network and would not let me rejoin without really working at it. I am not a satisfied customer and can't get my money back because I uninstalled the program.

    Summary

Don't waste your time and money with this nonsense. Sure, it sounds wonderful but this program does not understand all the different configurations that are out there. It is more trouble than it is worth. Gets an "F" from me!!

"well, I won't be buying Reimage"

    November 19, 2013  |   By suds_al

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

I really appreciate the reviews on this site and will not, based on what I just read, be purchasing a Reimage license. I am intrigued (and think it a superb idea) at the possibility of getting my OS repaired through a utility that downloads missing and/or corrupted files. I do not, however, do business with ANY company that 1) exhibits poor technical support, or; 2) 'sneaks' software I did not request onto my computer, or; 3) promises a 'money back' enticement and then makes that process deliberately arduous. I am now waiting for a responsive and ethical company to adopt a similar "assess, determine, download to fix" model.

    Cons

    No other comment.

    Summary

Many thanks to those who suffered at the hands of Reimage and were willing to share their experience with others.

"Great when in works, a disaster when it doesn't"

    August 16, 2013  |   By OhioGuy44

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

When this product works (which is most of the time), it can save you many headaches in replacing corrupt operating files and correcting other problems. Can do things that sfc /scannow can not.

    Cons

If your computer ever fails to reboot after a Reimage session you're in a world of hurt. I contacted customer service and was taken aback by their lack of concern and their feeling that you should be happy to wait for four days from them to schedule a technician to connect with your ailing computer after you boot to special CD. In my case the first "repair session" was unsuccessful and my computer would still not boot. There I was back at the bottom of the queue. After I complained bitterly about this, they did move things up a bit, but still were not very accommodating. Since it was their software that corrupted my computer, you'd think they'd be a little more attentive. In the end the second repair session did not correct things, and I was at the bottom of the queue once again for a third session. At that point, a week later, I gave up and did a fresh install and restored data from my online backup source.

    Summary

Just as my subject line says: Good when it works, a disaster when it doesn't. I would recommend staying about from this product until they greatly improve their customer service, which should start with hiring a sufficient number of techies to help with customer problems in a timely fashion.

I give them an F+ for customer service, because they did occasionally put in a little relevant material into their form emails. You know the type: sprinkled with expressions of how much they value you as a customer while at the same time tell you that they really won't accommodate your needs and showing that their time is much more valuable than yours. It's clear to me that basic problem is that they do not hire enough techies to help all of the people who have trouble with their software. Otherwise, they wouldn't make you wait so long.

    "Stay away from this company."

    January 6, 2013  |   By ljlane52

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

Didn't find anything I could verify as a problem.

    Cons

I used their online chat for tech support and they told me there was nothing they could do for me. I was with Mark for 39.38 minutes and I used print screen to record my so-called help to no avail. A company not worthy of your money.

    Summary

A not so quick fix that is just out like many others to "Maybe" fix a problem but didn't even work and did more harm than good to me. My Internet Explorer is totally useless. It deleted my tools bar and made IE a mess. I have tried everything to get it fixed. MS FixIt Center and a reinstall and Nothing. I have gone to chat rooms to see if others know how to fix MS IE and no one was helpful. Don't use this company.

"Former Reimage Product Champion now Avoids Reimage"

    August 6, 2012  |   By lschwartz6

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

    Frequently corrects OS performance problems.

    Cons

Automatically installs unauthorized 3rd party software on your computer that hijacks your browser.

    Summary

CAUTION! This company, Reimage, has changed. I was a champion of their product for years, but now avoid them like the plague. Reimage recently initiated a policy wherein a browser plug-in called "Babylon" is automatically installed on your computer during the course of downloading the Reimage software. In addition to my own terrible experience with Babylon, I did some research that revealed:

Babylon was developed by Babylon Ltd., an Israeli public company (TASE: BBYL). It is, among other things, a browser plug-in for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. This toolbar hijacks default browser settings, does not provide an option to automatically revert to previous settings, and is infamous for the complicated un-installation process. This behavior qualifies the software as malware in many users' opinions.

As suggested above, I found it to be very difficult to remove Babylon from my system. I personally gave up the effort. I contacted Reimage support and (after trying to talk me out of the uninstall) the tech logged into my computer to try to uninstall it himself. It took him 57 minutes to complete the process.

It is my guess that Babylon, Ltd. purchased Reimage and that they are using the Reimage repair program as a Trojan horse to proliferate their browser technology. For me, the Babylon browser is markedly substandard and objectionable. Prior to purchasing Reimage, I would urge all potential customers to research "Babylon" to understand what they're in for.

    "Did not solve my problems"

    May 4, 2012  |   By dbookbinder

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

    Easy to use

    Cons

Missed my main problem, which was a VSS issue preventing backups of my C drive. I had a few frustrating days with their tech support people, who consistently misunderstood the issue and made numerous irrelevant or impossible troubleshooting suggestions. I eventually fixed the problem myself and when I asked for a refund they insisted I undo all their changes first, which would likely also have undone the fix. Currently trying to get my money back from them. NOT RECOMMENDED.

"Worked as advertised and removed GoingOnEarth"

    November 7, 2011  |   By DavidWaller31

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

Stabilises PC and replaces corrupted files, DLLs, registry keys with clean working versions. Also detects missing components that may have been incorrectly deleted during anti virus removal.

    Cons

    None that I discovered

    Summary

I had a really bad infection with GoingOnEarth, which is a browser redirector. I read many threads about how to remove it, including technical articles from Microsoft. Some involve extremely complicated solutions and most required multiple 3rd party software products to perform bits and pieces of the repair. Most threads included comments that the suggested repair didn't work.

I bought ReImage. It ran for a few hours and fixed the problem. As a bonus it also fixed several other stability issues for me, including some that I didn't know I had, and system performance has improved noticeably.

It's not cheap (About £60) but it works. Sorts out malware, rootkits, etc., but more importantly replaces dameged DLLs, registry keys, etc., that I would otherwise had zero chance of spotting, let alone fixing.

Well worth it if you want a clean/robust PC or Laptop

"Didn't fix my problem AND No refund yet!!!"

    January 26, 2011  |   By lfpgl

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

    Didn't see any

    Cons

    Didn't fix my corrupded registry

    Summary

The following is my last communication with them:

Regarding your last e-mail "We are changing the status of this ticket to 'Closed' as we have not received a response from you in 24 hours."

Please read all of the attached e-mails sent to you. Reimage makes it very difficult to find out how to request a refund on your website. I did eventually find it and responded every time to your billing@reimage.com address. My initial communication was with your community@reimage.com address. Doesn't seem to matter, nobody there reads them anyway even when your Mon 1/24/2011 7:07 PM e-mail said "simply respond to this e-mail".

I just want a refund as your product didn't help my particular problem AND I JUST DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH YOU ANYMORE!!!!

"I It fixed SEARCH and others and sped up the computer."

    July 18, 2010  |   By MikeSL8

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

Reimage repaired some dead programs and sped up the boot process and other programs. Winword now comes up as fast as Notebook!

    Cons

Needs more communications about what's being fixed.

    Summary

Never saw a program that attacked so many problems from so many angles. Now broken things run, and everything boots and runs faster.

"Problem not found... 0 -1/2 star"

    April 26, 2010  |   By Hydroxygenman

    Version: Reimage 1223

    Pros

Appearance looked good, concept made sense, beyond that well... (in order to run it you need to do what they suggest, close everything or it will lock up.)

    Cons

The "problem" it found was not even close to the problem, which I found using a reconfigured -read properly configured, (I was slack), spyware terminator instead, doing deep scans it found 2 trojans.

    Summary

Neither was found by this program, instead it called out, what I believe was a fake, not a false, positive of Smalltroj. which was not detected by 4 other programs that I ran specifically on that file, and globally.

Rather than post false reviews on this site, you guys need to go back to the program and fix it and maybe allow some free use of the partial or entire repair program to "repair" your reputation at this point!!! Hello!
