    Version: Registry Mechanic 6.0

"thank god i only used the free version"

    by Madness316 on August 1, 2006

Pros: it dose what it says on the tin, if fixes or removes errors from you computer, when i first did a scan using free version it found over 700 errors and it fixed quite a lot, i now only have 450 errors. after the first scan my computer did work a bit quicker.

Cons: OMG i looked at the 450 errors it woudlnt fix becuase it was a free version and most of them where programmes i need, it wanted to delete games and mods for games and stuff liek that, it dos ehave a tendancy to go a bit mad when it dose a "deep scan"

you're not taking into account how many of those files are redundant, on a machine that's not had it's registry cleaned in a long time. you'll end up with a ton of redundant files. and they're safe to remove. nost registry cleaners error on the safe side. i find that not one single cleaner gets all the junk files. but using two registry cleaners can conflict. i have found that the free program ccleaner, does about as good a job of registry cleaning as any program, and errors on the safe side.

I think that maybee it only wanted to repair missing or invallid keys in your games and other apps.! I have been using it for over a year now and it has never caused any of my software any problems, including my games. Remember you can create a restore point before repairs.

I dont know much about how a hard drive runs in XP; I bought the full version and it keeps my computer running like a top. it has never deleted a file that wasn't broken; the File Recovery software that comes with it is way cool. it works. I have a 2.6 gig processor running on a p-4, the complete scan of both hard drives does take time as i have alot of files it needs to go through... but i wouldnt switch to any other program, the money I paid is worth its weight in no problems with sudden freezes and shutdowns from screwy links... This software is worth its price.

I have been using it for a while now and have come to trust this program emphatically. Sure the free version is vert limited, but once you realize the benifets of the program

you will have to have the full, paid version. With it you can always create a back up, if by the slightest reason it should delete an important key. (I don't.think so!!!). It is by far the best of its kind!! "DO NOT USE REGISTRY NUKER" It is about as poor as it's anti-spy partner!!!
