Version: Registry Mechanic 5.2
"Scans and repairs very well"
Pros: Excellent utility in the paid version. Scans, repairs, and optimizes your registry. Gets rid of all the errors and useless junk that will slow down your pc.
Cons: Free trial version has limited removal. A full function free trial would let users see how effective this fine utility really is.

I keep reading that taking out "junk" and registry "errors" speeds up your computer like the latter is a known fact. In point of fact, no one has ever scientifically proven that removing invalid registry items or compacting the registry speeds up any applications or decreases the number of system crashes. It just seems to make sense that if you clean something it will run better, but computers are not car engines. Why doesn't someone do a benchtest before and after running this program and not just assume that it actually has a practical application in the real world?

Ok, if you want to compact the hives in your registry,(also known as defraging or optimizing your registry) you need to download TuneUp Utilities 2006. It has a 30 day full function free trial. You say you have a virus you can't get rid of? Try Panda Platinum, it's good for a 90 day free trial. Hope this info helps.

Ok I have it and yes it does that but I can't purchase it and I want to compact my computer but it doesnt seem to be working...
Well thank you for the help and the information but I still have this one virus on my computer and I'm not sure how to get it off because I used spyware doc. but that didnt work could you help me with something to use?

It cleans your pc. Every time you visit a web page, install a program, play games, etc, it leaves little particles behind that eventually clog up your disk and slow your pc down. A good registry cleaner will get rid of that junk and speed up your pc. You need to clean your pc once a week or more with a good registry cleaner.
