"Will Not recommend"
Version: Registry Mechanic 11.0.277
Pros
Clears most of the Issues.
Cons
I purchased this SW after seeing the initial results. I paid for 2 years and when I did not renew the second time, the SW stopped working. No valid reason when I contacted support. I will not recommend if you want to protect your money. Use a freeware like CCleaner Instead.. Works as well and free.
Summary
Pathetic customer support. If you care for your money, do not buy.

"New Version = Terrible"
Version: Registry Mechanic 11.0.277
Pros
none....has always been a very good program, but new 11.0.277 is awful
Cons
The newest Registry Mechanic is probably the worst ever made. I have been using for years, and when seen an update figured OH good. Well that was a mistake. Took twice to install in windows7, after the re-boot figured was something I did, then it started. It removed parts and pieces of programs I use everyday. Hard to find all the settings, lot slower than the the older version. interface is poor. Overall the worst product on the market if trying this version......Terrible to remove, left all kinds of trails.
Summary
Too bad had to give it a 1, the is being overrated, Tried it had major problems, caused me to re-install two programs (Office being one) because allowed it to auto fix. Had troubles getting out of system. Had me digging to go back to RM 10 far more stable. Advise to stay away from RM 11 till they fix some problems maybe in next update, But keep what you have that works do NOT bother with this one.

"Sadly, not as good as it used to be"
Version: Registry Mechanic 11.0.277
Pros
Very comprehensive suite of registry and computer cleaning tools
Cons
The latest version became stuck on scrubbing my registry every night and the normal scheduling tools to turn this off became ineffective! This forced me to reboot every morning as the registry scrubbing could no longer be turned off. That kind of invasion into my operating system is an automatic deal breaker for me.
Summary
This used to be one of the best programs around. Unfortunately, it has gotten too aggressive and wants to literally take over your operating system. This entire program needs a new overhaul. They need to get back to the simple effective program they once had. Each year they kept adding more and more tools and capabilities and now it has a mind of its own. I'm searching again for a better alternative and hopefully a freeware one.

"You need to pay annually"
Version: Registry Mechanic 11.0.277
Pros
Easy to use if you don't use all the optimal tweaks.
Cons
1. You will be given an online account which does little except to tie you into being changed annually; this software is a service for which you will have to pay every year.
2. Beware when you try to follow the impressive looking dial and optimize your registry to 100%, you will likely end up losing more than you bargained for. -

"Removes start menu icons when you use the Privacy Tool."
Version: Registry Mechanic 11.0.277
Pros
Some of the Tools seem to work.
Cons
Contacted Customer Service in reference to icons that were removed from the Start Menu and received no answer.

"Did not work with GData Antivirus in the same machine."
Version: Registry Mechanic 11.0.277
Pros
Overall, one of the best PC Repair, Optimization, and Maintenance software around.
Lots of good features, centered around the maintenance of the Registry.Cons
Did not work with my GData Antivirus software. It conflicts during boot time, and windows logon, causing significant slowdown, and errors to occur.
Depending on your System Hardware and Software configuration, Registry Mechanic may or may not be for you.Summary
I used Registry Mechanic before on my old Windows XP System, and if I wrote a review back then, I would have given it 5 Stars.
So, I am disappointed that it did not work in my Vista 64 System. So I give it a meager 2.5 Rating - it may or may not work for you. -
"Do not buy."
Version: Registry Mechanic 11.0.277
Pros
Nothing good to say about latest upgrade.
Cons
Do not buy Registry Mechanic. Have used it for several years. Latest upgrade went into my computer and removed all entries in System Restore and put the entries into Registry Mechanic. When I complained to PC Tools, they said they could not reverse it. Two supervisors told me there was nothing they could do. PC Tools refunded my subscription, but I received no apologies. Very poor customer service. I wrote to their office in California and received no response. How dare they change anything on my computer.
Summary
Do Not Buy. Poor customer service.

"For 2 years, Registry Mechanic has done a good job."
Version: Registry Mechanic 11.0.277
Pros
Working with the registry is a scary endeavor; altering it just a little can cause great dysfunction. The last 2 years I paid for my Registry Mechanic and many annoying issues on my computer like; missing dlls, pop-ups regarding issues with programs and slower function cleared up.
Cons
Having learned that Symantec now owns Registry Mechanic gives me a little concern. For years, I had used their antivirus and it did a good job but with their installation came many extras that ran as well. Some that I didn't need would run at startup. Those that ran in the background were using a lot of my memory. It became so cumbersome that I had to remove it.
Summary
At this time, I definitely recommend Registry Mechanic as part of your computer maintenance.

"Very good tool to keep your computer tuned up."
Version: Registry Mechanic 11.0.277
Pros
Easy to use. Allows automatic scheduling of complicated (ling) task during off hour times. seems generally very thorough.
Cons
Doesn't fix all discovered errors. Interface could be better.
Summary
I have used this tool for about 3 years now. I am generally very happy. The user interface could be a bit better but it is not bad. The biggest issue I have with it is that in the options it allow you to create a restore point before it changes anything in the computer. That generally is a good thing. So if I do one process...say Clean my Registry...it creates a restore point. Good thing. Then if I go to another function such as defrag the registry, it wants to create another restore point even though I just created one. I know I can go into the options and turn it off but I would prefer if there was a switch on each process page asking me if I want to create a restore point and when was the last time I did one. Over all it is a minor inconvenience.
