This software will cause far more problems than it will ever solve. A total piece of crap.
Even though I only corrected errors that were supposedly totally safe to fix, I ended up having to do a complete reformat after using this software. It will turn your minor problems into major ones.

Full functionality requires the paid version. I had to use the Revo Uninstaller to remove the software completely from my machine, otherwise it issues reminders.

Easy to use, backs up registry, cleans old unused registry entries and defrags the registry

None except the Platinum version of the program is more expensive. The regular standard version is a very capable program and great for most users.
Summary
I have used this program for almost 10 years versions 3, 7 & 8 and it has never caused any issues for me. It has always cleared my registry of thousands of unneeded entries left by software. If you own a previous version there is a really good discount on the upgrade price. I was pleased to find this new version works on 64 bit windows.
A great program for the toolkit for the power user. -

I've trial used many of the big name registry cleaners and found most all of them either dangerous or ineffective. RFA not so. They correctly inform you what is totally safe to change and what you should give a very good look at before changing. That along with the automatic restore point is very good. The new upgrade to RFA7 is great in that it also defrags the registry if needed. There's a lot of useful features that I don't generally use, like taking 'snapshots' of different parts of the registry, restoring from within the program and editing the registry. A clogged up registry most definetly effects performance and stability and along with CCleaner and the clean up tools in Tuneup 2009 keeps my machine in like new condition. Well worth the money.

"It is OK safe in what it does eliminate"

It allows you to use the pc while it is running. Which is a big bonus. Safe because not overly aggresive. Eliminated hangs and blue screen. Likens more to RegFirstAid4

I prefer older versions, like 6.0.0 for at least it took out 10 when it said it would. & is fairly quick but there are quicker products out there.(and slower)
Summary
Why 1 reg cleaner cannot see all the errors makes one suspicious about value of product. I run more than 1 cleaner. Everyone finds something. I have been using it since RegFirstAid1. or so. It was my first cleaner and kept it just because it did help(much better than defragging the system. For minimal ram systems and a lack of knowledge in the registry - I lucked out in choosing this product. At least it did help. But, I won't buy it.

Cons
After showing all problems, the program tells you you need to pay if you want to make more than a limited number of corrections. It is possible to print the error list and correct them manually, of course...

"Great registry editor"

RFA editor is an easy to use registry editor which finds many different types of errors such as invalid dll's, file extensions and startup programs. It has a backup feature which ensures that if anything goes wrong you can undo your changes.
Cons
It tends to come up with an awful lot of entries which cannot be modified due to restrictions from Vista. This means that if you have made a lot of changes to your PC you can end up with over 1000 registry errors and have to scan tw0 or three times.
Summary
RFA is a safe and easy to use program. Despite what some people may say about editing the registry it can be vital in certain situations. For example when I uninstalled Nero 9 it left behind over 580 registry entires even though I had used their so called Clean Tool. I had to delete them all manually in RFA as three options for Nero products, no longer on my PC, kept showing up under Autoplay options for CD's. Now it's all sorted.
Regarding the con I mentioned above tech support informed me that it will be resolved in the next version of RFA, currently under beta testing. They said that the new version when released will not show "no permission to modify"
registry entries until user selects the option to show all restricted
keys. If thats true then it will be a good improvement to the software.
