RecordPad is a simple, yet robust sound recorder for Windows PC. Record notes, voice and other audio to MP3, WAV or AIFF. Includes voice activated recording and system-wide hot keys to allow keyboard control over recording while working in other programs. Find and Play recordings by format, date, duration and size. It includes keyword search of audio recording when a speech engine is installed. It has option to automatically send recordings via email or upload to an FTP server. You can even record using Windows command line options.

Record pad is easy to use. The sound quality is perfect.
Cons
The killer problem is there is no real way or easy way to purchase it. My credit card will not let me buy outside the country without red tape. Further, once you try to buy and fail, RecordPad bans your e-mail and IP FOREVER.
Summary
The best and worst of situations in one package: A perfect product but no way to possess it.

Sometimes locks up / hangs when recording. It's not a free program, and the price is really high for what little it does.

I wouldn't bother with this. There are other programs that are free AND don't lock up.

Summary
I have read a lot of reviews and tried mostly all the others,but this one stands out, based on it's simplicity, and up to this point no BS attached. Some of the tools in the toolbox is for more serious or advanced users with all the knobs,controls,and switches etc. I am on the trial version but will purchase this one when my trial is over to make sure it is exactly what I need because I have 100's of open reel and cassette tapes I want to preserve. This product is great! SO FAR
