"Manually Install is quicker then clicking ok 40 times."
Version: Realtek AC'97 Driver (Windows Vista / Windows 7) 6.0.1.6305
Pros
Drivers are fine read bottom line
Cons
read bottom line
Summary
The bottom line is this. If the driver installation program itself is giving you problems then it would just be simpler and faster to do a manual install. Follow these steps if you are logged in with administrator rights.
Right click on computer and go into device manager. From there find the drop down tree for your sound controller. Expand the tree and right click on your sound device and select update driver. Select search my computer. Go into your drivers folder and find and select the appropriate folder I.E. "select Vista for Vista and 7 32 bit or select Vista64 if you have a 64bit version of either operation system. If you want to see if your operating system is 64 bit or not go into system properties and view it. Which can be seen by right clicking on computer and selecting properties. Your summary should come up along with some other things.
Not being lazy and letting a simple application who's only job is to copy the drivers and give you the stupid looking realtek gui, which frankly I prefer to go without. Hope this gave you all some insight. -
"Flawless sound, slight problems"
Version: Realtek AC'97 Driver (Windows Vista / Windows 7) 6.0.1.6305
Pros
Sound works. It's truly amazing!
Cons
Duhm. You have to allow the driver to access your computer EXACTLY 20 times.
Summary
You have to allow the driver to access your computer EXACTLY 20 times, each warning 20 seconds away. People think this is an endless loop, but in reality, it's just a VERY LONG loop. Download this driver if you have the patience to wait 3 1/2 minutes for a driver to go through a begin phase.

"Big problems with this driver."
Version: Realtek AC'97 Driver (Windows Vista / Windows 7) 6.0.1.6305
Pros
None. It won't install.
Cons
Starts to install, then Win7 says it can't verify the publisher, I click install anyway and a few seconds later the same message comes back that it can't verify the publisher. Clicked on this maybe 50 times. Same result.
Summary
Don't know if it is a problem with the installer software or Win7. But somebody needs to read these reviews and get their act together either at Microsoft or Realtek.
