    "THIS IS ONE SWEET APP!!"

    by davemartin7777 on May 1, 2005

Pros: I like to record long text with an app like "Total Recorder" (TR is GREAT btw} and play it back with an mp3 player or burn it to CD then play it back when I run or go shopping. If you really want ReadPlease to rock get "Audrey" the 16k British AT&T broadband voice, her voice is just AMAZING. She's the best of the AT&T voices, by far imho. This is one of the very coolest app's that I've owned (I had the previous version also). Works with PDF files also.

Cons: Now I just need a good OCR so I can do my own books-on-tape. Con's? Comparing the installed voices to the 16k AT&T broadband voices is like comparing an AM radio broadcast to quality FM sound.

"no real pdf reader, funy interface"

by rubilar on March 19, 2008

Pros: funny interface, easy to use

Cons: doesnt really read PDF files, you must copy into the clipboard the selected text. So will not work with protected pdfs.

Must be instaled in the main program folder (c:), will not work properly in other folder. (I have winXP)

    "Nice"

by vbsouthern on October 21, 2005

Pros: Lots of fun to play with. The limitations are easy to work around. I have used it with Creative WaveStudio to make wav files and then converted the wav's into mp3's...

Very handy for people who are vision impaired. Settings for high contrast and large buttons are available...

Cons: The upgrade to ReadPlease Plus 2003 is WAY over-priced, $59.95 US + shipping....

I would in all likelihood buy this software for $19.95...

"Unfortunately not so good as it likes"

by tbeltran on August 8, 2008

Pros: Good spacing word speaking. Free version with limited characteristics. And many other languages than English.

Cons: Poor quality voices installed. Bad and poor interface. Few controls and low flexibility. The worst is the high resources expend, even when the program is not actually reading.
