Although riding the rails seems antiquated these days, railroads were a huge factor in the rise of industrial civilization. Railroad Tycoon 3 brings back those heady days of rail construction and development with a simulation game designed to replicate some of the most impressive transportation achievements throughout history.Although much of the gameplay involves laying track, building stations, buying trains, and scheduling routes, the tycoon aspects of the game also are important. Issuing bonds and stocks, improving trade efficiency, and expanding company holdings all are important in building your empire. The game's interface is intuitive and flexible. Several options for controlling the camera and navigating the playing field are easy to learn, and a detailed tutorial leads you through the basic and advanced features of the game. Graphics are impressive, from satellite images to close-ups of individual towns, but the demo suffers from some slight program hangs and interminable loading times. The full game may appeal mostly to railroad aficionados and hard-core sim fans, but the demo provides a great taste of the action. One full scenario and unlimited gameplay should be enough to help any gamers on the fence make up their minds.

Version: Railroad Tycoon 3 demo
Pros: If you have a good Computer I have a 2.6Ghz P4 768MB Ram 128 NVidia 5200...And it play fine...I notice a couple of times the sound would skip but, it only lasted a couple of seconds. I used cheat codes and lay as much track as I could to see if it would slow down or get choppy. Ran fine. Grahics are fair not the best but it's ok.
Cons: Well it's a pretty big download if you don't have DSL or Cable. If you have Modem I would recommed a downloader like DAP something that has a pause or a resume if you get disconnected. Other than that game runs good.

Version: Railroad Tycoon 3 demo
"Time to Live out your Childhood fantasies with a little finacial aspect"
Pros: Watching the trains go by over mountains over lakes and all that nice stuff
Cons: Its a demo so not everything is included plus the fantasy of the choo choo is kinda ruined when you realize you need money to do so

Version: Railroad Tycoon 3 demo
Pros: The gameplay is awesome, giving you a 20 Mile view of the world as well as a tree-height view all with a simple scroll of the mouse. Laying tracks is by far the most challenging thing because track that's longer need not necessarily cost more.
Cons: It gets slow once you have a lot of trains and track, but I guess that may be due to my old machine.
