RadioMaximus Portable from Raimersoft is the on-the-go version of the free podcasting software that allows you to not only listen but to record Internet podcasts wherever you are. The portable tool, like its big brother, can record in multiple formats, such as MP3, WMA, AAC, or OGG.
RadioMaximus Portable, which can be used from a USB device, offers a simple interface that may not be as sleek as other players, but it is easy to set up and use. The Internet radio player can be configured with your favorite stations and allows you to schedule automatic recordings. We liked that the tool displayed the cover art for music and showed the logos of the stations on your list. There is a Help file, but the tool was easy enough to use without any assistance.
RadioMaximus Portable is the perfect lightweight alternative for people who want an easy way to access their favorite podcasts. One minor issue we found during the test is that the application installed a desktop icon without permission.
