New feature: Shortcuts. Shortcuts make it easy to enter repetitive or hard-to-remember text in your weblog. When you enter a shortcut name in "double quotes" Radio will replace it with its value as the page is rendered. Radio can automatically create shortcuts for you, when you publish a titled weblog post, or a story.
Many pages in the Help system have been updated, including more detailed explanations of many features, and improved formatting.
The item template for the default Theme now includes support for posts with titles, and for comments.
Bug fix: An obscure bug in the xmlStorageSystem upstreaming driver, which in combination with another bug in the core upstreaming code, could cause your folder in the cloud to be deleted, has been fixed.
New macro, radio.macros.blogroll, makes it easy to generate blogroll (navigation) links from an OPML file.
New macro, radio.macros.mySubscriptions, generates links to all of the channels you've subscribed to in the news aggregator.
New callback: user.radio.callbacks.writeRssFile -- allows developers to completely override the output of RSS files in Radio. This allows people to experiment with different formats and encoding, and see how those changes interact with aggregators, including the one that's built into Radio.
New glue has been added for Google's SOAP API. A macro, google.macros.box, lets you render the results of a Google search in a box on your website.
Bug fix: When writing non-text files using the filesystem upstream driver, use file.writeWholeFile instead of file.writeTextFile, to write the file. Prevents mangling of certain byte sequences which appear to be line-endings.
Bug fix: If you have not completed setting up Radio via the setup page, all other requests for pages in the desktop website are now redirected to the setup page. Prevents problems for people who quit the application before completing the setup.
Bug fix: Remote POSTs to the desktop website via a domain name instead of an IP address are no longer rejected.
Added support to the Tools framework for opening OPML files into an arbitrary outline object. Also added low-level size-based caching to the open URL functionality.
Bug fix: When initializing Tools at startup, a missing nodeType no longer causes the startup script not to complete.
Bug fix: The SCNS driver for XML-RPC now passes the RPC path to betty.rpc.client. Fixes CSNS support for XML-RPC servers that use a path other than /RPC2.
New feature, in progress: Instant outlining.
Bug fix: The Save as HTML command in the Radio application now works.
Feature for Theme developers: Macros are now processed inside navigator links.
Bug fix: A logical error in file.synchTableWithFolder could cause Macros and Web Services not to work properly has been fixed.
Bug fix: Radio's Blogger API implementation now correctly publishes changes as necessary.
OPML files created by Radio UserLand now include an XML comment at the beginning of the file, that says what application generated the file.
Bug fix: When switching communities using the Change Community Server page, set the rpcPath in #upstream.xml, to include the leading slash character. Also, make sure to update information used for RSS publish-and-subscribe, and the "web bug simulator" which tracks reads of RSS files.
Bug fix: When radio is connected to a non-UserLand community server, only update Theme files if the community server has its own Themes.
RSS Enclosures: Several changes should make double-downloads impossible, and make enclosures more reliable.
Developer feature: You can now filter the description field of your RSS output using a callback script.
Friendlier polling for instant outlines -- outlines which aren't updated often are polled less often.
Bug fix: When viewing the news page, entities are no longer decoded an extra time.
Bug fix: radio.macros.getLastUpdate now returns the date/time when the page is rendered instead of the modification date of the source file. This fixes a problem with some Themes, where the "Last modified" date would never change.
Comment links now have the CSS class, commentLink.
Fixed a bug which could cause macro errors on the home page if a deleted post is edited in a cached or stale browser window.
