"worked on a few pc's i have cleaned in the past"

March 16, 2014  |   By THE TRUTH TELLER

    Version: RKill 2.6.5.0

    Pros

Works get it from the original authors at bleepingcomputer.com

    Cons

None that i know of. pretty straight forward command line with out a user interface program. Which stops malware programs from running. Best to use it in safe mode.

    Summary

Works GREAT ON THOSE FAKE ROUGE PROGRAMS LIKE THE FAKE WINDOWS SECURITY SUITE THAT REPORTS ALL KINDS OF INFECTIONS AND MAKES YOU PAY TO GET RID OF THEM.

    "Works great"

    November 23, 2013  |   By redmane

    Version: RKill build 4

    Pros

Allows your anti-malware and anti-virus software to work when your browser has been hijacked or the malware/virus won't let your real anti-malware/virus run.

    Cons

    None I can find

    Summary

I have been using this for years,it always does the job. Simple but effective, stops the processes that cause disruption in your anti-virus/malware program. No installer, just stops the bad guys. It is one of the best geek tools I have found.

    "it works and safe"

    January 30, 2013  |   By databaseben

    Version: RKill build 4

    Pros

it was quick and easy to run and didn't interfere with the running antivirus program.

it did find one thing that i would have never thought as being malicious. when it removed that service, my system seemed to be a little speedier afterwards.

    Cons

no cons. well made and makes a registry backup too.

    Summary

a good tool to add to your anti malware arsenal.

"I sure as heck won't run it again!"

    January 4, 2013  |   By zupansic

    Version: RKill build 4

    Pros

None that I can see, unless you like Trojans and Adware.

    Cons

Like I said, r-kill contains a Trojan and Adware.

    Summary

I ran the latest r-kill which was released today (1-4-'13), and then I immediately ran the latest Dr.WebCureIT scan, which also was released today. After doing so, the scan detected a Trojan and some Adware in the r-kill program.
    Need I say more!??

    "made a bad situation worse"

    November 27, 2012  |   By PaulieBeans

    Version: RKill build 4

    Pros

it's own search found two files that it's installer tried to install as malware, so I guess it works a bit..

    Cons

installed funmoods browser search redirect even though I declined in the Rkill installation and did not fix the browser search redirect within Chrome. I manually had to delete funmoods from all three browsers since it installed BHO in IE and extensions in Firefox, luckily the process I used to clean Chrome took care both funmoods and the other redirect. I do not understand how a program that is supposed to clean malware on CNET installs malware.

    Summary

I am pretty technical, so I had to do my manual cleanup, but I would not install this unless Rkill guys can connect themselves with more appropriate companies if they are using these other companies to make money or pay for development.

    "Oh thank you!"

    August 18, 2012  |   By aliceiam

    Version: RKill build 4

    Pros

Just when I thought a virus had stumped me, I found rkill. Downloaded it, ran it, and my problem was gone.

    Cons

    none, ok, bye...

    Summary

If my computer starts acting funky, I run rkill. It always finds something. I use spybot search & destroy, malwarebytes anti malware, ccleaner, mcafee, windows defender, you name it, and sometimes none of the above can help.
