"Free Your RAM So Easily!"
Version: RAM Def 2.6 XTreme
Pros
Love this program. Haven't noticed the lag or slow down problems others have mentioned. When my computer slows down it's because too much RAM is being used and this little program goes right to work freeing it up. Have used this program (and its predecessors) for several years now, and it only shut down what I was working on (a RAM-intensive project) once. The interface is simple, containing just enough information; even a newbie shouldn't be intimidated. I stopped loading anything at start-up except my firewall, and have a file of programs to start up after, including RAM Def. Perhaps that's why I don't have any problems with it.

"Good little piece of software."
Version: RAM Def 2.6 XTreme
Pros
It does a good job if you know how to use this software. Try to use silent mode if you not an advanced user. Not bad at least wont crash ur windows. Some memory optimise software will cause ur windows hang/crash.
Cons
So far so good.

"MAJOR IMPROVEMENT!"
Version: RAM Def 2.6 XTreme
Pros
I run win98 with 255mb ram but a hard drive that came from a 500mhz machine. Ram is the most vital thing to my system. this works GREAT!! I monitor my system resources with Free Meter (v2.8.1) and I see over a 75% improvement with my ram. I can't recommend it enough. First use - i had my comp up and runnin for 2 days, my ram was down to 2% free physical ram. I ran this program and all the sudden I had only 27% used!!!!
Cons
YOU MUST!!!! EXIT ALL PROGRAMS BEFORE STARTING IT OR THEY MAY RESULT IN A CRASH OR SEVERE LAG. (ugly gui)

"Good. But.."
Version: RAM Def 2.6 XTreme
Pros
Speeds computer up after a while. Be careful and give this program a second chance, it was absoultely HORRIBLE when I tried it but then I uninstalled it and my computer worked great. Then out of the goodness of my heart (yea right) something made me try it again and it was slow for 30 seconds or so, now my computer cruises. Dont give up on this the first time, it works for me and it should work for you. :)
Cons
none but the fact that when it starts off it slows the computer down for a *very* short time.

"Does the opposite of what its supposed to do"
Version: RAM Def 2.6 XTreme
Pros
Small size
Cons
This program eats up all the RAM instead of clearing it up.It is totally useless and unreliable.
-
"usable"
Version: RAM Def 2.6 XTreme
Pros
free up ur ram as expected
Cons
do not activate the start up option...you might get into some trouble getting your system to start up...dunno why they include the option anyways ...slowing down or freezing your system on startup is definitely an understatement...(same with other similar softwares though) but apparently not the best in it's field

"Didn't harm, but others do better"
Version: RAM Def 2.6 XTreme
Pros
I'm giving 4 stars just cuz this program is free and didn't harm my system, no adware etc, while trying it out. A big deal here in freeware land. Chief Con: I have a Vaio Laptop P4M 2.2ghz 512mg ddr. XP-Pro with SP2. I'm pretty good with keeping my system running smoothly. I first tried FreeRAM XP Pro 1.4. It works well but what drew me to RAM DEF was it's 100kb (give or take) size. I thought, smaller program, uses less resources to do the job. Well I was wrong. Download, install, run RAM DEF and while it's running open the Task Mng-processes. FreeRAM Pro uses 1-1.8mb of memory. RAM DEF uses a whopping 9+MB to operate. Huge diff. So RAM DEF won't harm, but Free RAM XP Pro seems to do the job more efficiently. :)
Cons
Thanks DL.com for everything. Like to take A sec to list the best FREE programs I've used /am using mostly from this site.
CCleaner | Cooxie toolbar | HTTRACK | HACKMAN HEX EDITOR | AVG ANTIVIRUS | ZONEALARM | FRESHUI | ADWARE-SE | SPYBOT S & D | SPEEDFAN 4.23 | FREEMETER 2.8 | RxTx32 | TUNEXP 1.5 |
Thanks and with some of the above list, please be careful. None will harm your system, but some are powerful enough such that YOU can harm it. Mainly the REGISTY editors.
