"WARNING: Program 'forgets' it is registered!! Don't lose your code!!"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Cons
The R-Studio file-restoration suite suddenly failed to behave as if registered; my copy of my registration information was lost in a corrupted file, so the program is useless to me. I requested my code through the R-Tools website. They denied me, citing the end-user agreement's 180-day time limit on technical service. WARNING: This company counts as "technical service" the provision of a registration code to a legitimate, registered user who might lose the code in a corrupt file -- an odd viewpoint for a provider of file restoration software! I would argue that emailing a code is not technical service, but a customer service, not to mention just plain good business sense. This is a costly program--a registered user should be treated as such. Shame on you, R-Tools!

"Don't worry. R-Stuido will save you!!"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Pros
Simply put, R-Studio WORKS!! I lost a 160gig drive which had everything I've saved over the last 8 years. After running R-Studio I had recovered everthing that was on the drive before it crashed. R-studio is indeed a life saver. The price of this software is well worth it. Although the interface doesn't have the pretty, big buttons like other programs, it is still easy to use.
Cons
A quick start guide would be nice for the novice computer user. But don't forget there is a help file that does the job but I think the help is too intimidating for beginners to use.

"Okay for small files, cannot handle big or large number of files"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Pros
Inexpensive
Cons
My Western Digital 40GB hard drive crashed. The product was able to rebuild the directory tree and stuff. But when I tried to recover, it could not handle files more than 100MB. I also couldn't handle a large number of small files (in my case, I have thousands). Finally, the product's sector by sector copy failed me after copying 8GB of data. I resorted to Stella Phoenix NTFS and got my recovery done.

"Fast, accurate and easy data recovery. Definetely a must."
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Pros
After fighting a whole week with a stuborn badly fragmented 30GB HD with MBR and FAT destoyed, dealing with a bunch of so called "data recovery software" with the only result of a disk full of references to clusters and sectors but no structure at all.
Then came across R-Studio and in 60 minutes I had my HD structure back again. From that point, recovering my important files was just a snap simply by selecting them from the directory tree.
It works silently and it's very accurate, being fragmentation not a big deal...amazing!
It saved me lots of money, time and health.
