"Recovered my daughter's files"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Summary
Somehow the hard disk on her old computer got "blanked out" -- no boot record, no partition tables, nothing. Using the demo version I was able to recover all her old document files which fortunately were under 64K. Note on stability: like some other reviewers I had a crash problem, but it was easily solved. Turned off the spy-watch program and the antivirus I had running and the program worked fine. (On a Win98 PC.) I don't consider this a serious defect on a program intended for occasional use. Not for the computer novice but well worth a try for anyone who is capable of setting and installing the "dead" drive as slave in another computer.

"64K demo limit impossible"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Summary
The 64K demo file size limit made it impossible to test this product.

"Best recovery tool"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Summary
After having exhausted every option and having used all the major heavy players in the hard disk recovery arena, ONLY R-Studio Data Recovery was able to bring my hard disk back from the dead. (accidentally soft-formatted). It was able to recover ALL the files with their original names and extensions. Truly it was a God-sent program!

"DID WHAT IT STATED!"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Summary
I contacted customer service because I was unsure which version to buy. They responded shortly thereafter, so I purchased R-Studio so I could recovered either format.
It recognized my 200G X- HD and recovered all my files. I recommend it HIGHLY if you want positive results. Save your application on seperate C.D for future reference.
P.S. Stay away from "ISLO". They are a joke! A waste of money. -
"Simple and highly effective"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Summary
I just wanted to heap a little praise on your R-Studio.....I
just had a drive go south on me and went to use my $500 Ontrack
Easyrecovery package I bought about a year ago. It has saved my butt several times but his time around, though, I was just not happy with the results
of it's drive scan. It detected an NTFS data structure but did not see any of the folders and found only TWO files (without file names too), and this was a full 40 gig drive!
I happened upon a demo of R-Studio somewhere, had never heard of it,
but decided to give it a try. It found the entire contents of my drive, with all the folders and files (plus file names) intact....I was very impressed (and excited too) and bought R-Studio right then and there. This $80 software did what
the more expensive one could not, I will be using your software from
now on, excellent job guys!!!! -
"No Support or Customer Service"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Summary
My External HD crashed after a power failure. I bought their software and it didn't work. After 3 phone calls and 3 emails over the period of 4 days, they finally emailed and said that I had bought the wrong version. Weird, I followed their instructions, but ok; give me the one I need. No, you must now buy the multi format version; we offer no exchanges, even when we made the original suggestion on what to buy. I asked to speak to Customer Service but found out that they didn't have one. The result is that I was forced to spend additional money to find out if it would even work. It ended up recovering almost half, but not the portions I needed. If a company doesn't support the product, and makes you wait 4 days before any contact when your are going through the desperation of lost important info, is completely inexcusable.
I would look at other programs you can get here. -
"Life Saver!"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Summary
This product is a life saver! I recently had some problems with 2 disks configured as a hardware IDE stripe. The RAID controller failed to see the stripe, although the data was still there. R-Studio seamlessly allowed restore of the data elsewhere without *any* problems - all 200GB of it! Absolutely stunning :)

"Nice option for non-critical data"
Version: R-Studio Data Recovery 2.0
Summary
Had a client with some photos accidentally deleted. Didn't get them all back, but got more than half. For really critical stuff, I'd still go to the experts, but this is a nice little utility to have at home!
