    "Old version was better"

    March 19, 2011  |   By zaivala

This used to be a great product. It still runs like the old one. But...

I have no clue why, but QP scans many of my files and renames them. I did not have this problem with QCD 3. Some of the artists and song titles it comes up with would be hilarious, if it weren't MY STUFF. I can't find a forum or contact address.

I can't find anything better to use. Any suggestions? WMP sux, WinAmp sux, RealPlayer REALLY sux, and I hate Apple products.

Media Monkey is great, skinnable, flexable, supports ipod(s), Supports many formats including FLAC, nice to use and nice to look at and stable. Good sound quality. JRiver Media Center has the best sound quality by far, very noticeable improvement when compared to any other, audiophiles choice also has wide format support. Both are free to try, media monkey is free but limited, both are worth the money. Good Luck, hope you like one of these.

You can get rid of that little feature
    open the player
press Ctrl-b or click on the Plug-ins menu
click on Libraries in the left sidebar
In the main window select Quinnware Gracenote MusicID Service v3.31
    Then click Configure button
In the left sidebar click Gracenote and select MusicID File
In the main window uncheck Automaticaly identify library data with Gracenote metadata and check Don't update library data
I have been using MP3tag to edit/update metadata. Hope this helps.

I agree qcp 3 was the best player around. I wish I had kept the file on my computer so I could reload it.
