    Summary

    Waste of money. Got s*****d.

    "Complete piece of Junk"

    March 29, 2015  |   By stregg

    Version: Quicken Deluxe 2015

    Pros

Very little other choices, Hard to find an alternative, They have a monopoly the FTC seems to be ignoring

    Cons

    Unreliable, No custoemer service, Inconsistant

    Summary

When Microsoft Money (a far, far better product, by the way) folded, these guys realized they had a virtual monopoly on the market and just do whatever they want with the product despite customer needs and with no regard for customer experience. What are supposed to be automatic downloads of your bank data are rarely complete, manual uploads of data are impossible, intuitive features such as uploading a list of transactions from an excel spreadsheet are nonexistant, automatic categorization of expenses and income is completely unreliable. It's just a horrible product that will leave you spending more time on your finances then really should be necessary. Look around for a better solution. Write Microsoft and beg them to bring back Money.

    "Avoid Intuit!"

    March 19, 2015  |   By crowley66

    Version: Quicken Deluxe 2015

    Pros

Best thing about Quicken is that there are alternatives. They're not as mainstream, but anything is better than this evil spawn.

    Cons

Did you know they'll cut off your online features and cripple Quicken after 3 years? Of course not, because they don't tell you when you're buying, but it's been their policy for a decade. Or did you know that all of your online transactions (like account reconciliation) pass through their servers? That's right, they have access to every purchase and transaction you make. Can you really trust them with that information? They also have no customer service to speak of. Absolutely no phone contact and only useless pre-sales chat support.

    Summary

Morally and legally questionable business practices.
    No customer support.
You'll just have to buy it again in three years.

"Quicken 2015 is a total waste of money"

    March 17, 2015  |   By Sheryl Raumann

    Version: Quicken Deluxe 2015

    Pros

It's very much like the older versions with few exceptions.A new box and some new colors but the program is the same one featured over the last 8 years.

    Cons

There's really nothing new here. Give me back my 2012 or even 2008.

    Summary

Intuit forces you to upgrade and spend money on a new program for no reason except to profit from the sales. I doubt that any new research or development went into this 2015 version.

    "Doesn't deserve ANY stars"

    March 2, 2015  |   By ewm0826

    Version: Quicken Deluxe 2015

    Pros

There are no pros. After 20+ years of using the product, I'm going to a spreadsheet.

    Cons

Downloads from banks often have problems, mobile Quicken doesn't work but will screw up your desktop version

    Summary

There is nothing good about Quicken anymore. When it hit the market in the early 90s it was great. Now it and Intuit can go pound nails.

Save your money, use a free spreadsheet like Open Office.

"Went back to free 2010 Microsoft Money Plus Sunset"

    February 13, 2015  |   By oommma4eva

    Version: Quicken Deluxe 2015

    Pros

    No adequate competition.

    Cons

Doesn't get the simple things right. If accounting software can't get the right account balance when displaying only unreconciled transactions it's useless.

    Summary

In 2010 I switched to Quicken because Microsoft Money was going away. Now after 5 years of making do I've downloaded the Sunset version of Microsoft Money, manually re-established my accounts and going backwards to get what works for me. Even with all the things it doesn't have ... No online services (no online quotes, no bill payment, no statement downloads initiated by Money, no data sync with MSN Money online services, etc?) ยท No support services (support services are limited to online self-help only ... it works better for me than Quicken!

    "I regret this purchase."

    February 8, 2015  |   By suebee29

    Version: Quicken Deluxe 2015

    Pros

I know the product after so many years of use.

    Cons

Every year I seem to have the same issues changing from one year to the next. When I archive the prior year, my current balances are off by a lot of money. The sync feature constantly has to be reset. Now the sync works, but the auto close that used to work with it does not. It is just too frustrating to deal with each and every time.

    Summary

This has to be my last purchase. If I ever get it set up right I am never getting another. I will wait until another product comes out.

    "2015 Quicken is Unusable"

    February 2, 2015  |   By neilhmurphy

    Version: Quicken Deluxe 2015

    Pros

I've been a long time user of Quicken, but I stopped getting new versions after 2001. Quicken only got worse.

    Cons

Unless you are willing to endure phone or chat support, welcome to the cold.

    Summary

I downloaded Quicken 2004 it got hung up (that's all I can tell you). I restarted it and it tried to "help" me. After struggling with it I finally got my 2001 data converted. I would suggest an option: Manual (Advanced Users) . The following day I tried to install 2015. Toward the end it asked me to establish a userid and password, OK. Now let me point some things out. I use a browser based password manager, RoboForm, so it was going to be a challenge to get this info into RoboForm. I would guess that the reason for doing this was so I could download data from financial sites. As they say in math the chance of me doing this is vanishingly small. The came a second screen which asked me to establish an Intuit userid and password. Which I tried to do, but it rejected it saying it was "Invalid ..." No explanation! It suggested that I call customer service. Now it is my belief that corporations view telephones as instruments with which to torture their customers. There was also a "Forgot Password" button, but why should I click it? Since the error message gave no hint as to why my choices were INVALID clicking the button would constitute playing guessing games with a computer, a very silly pastime in my book. Now it may be that in 1995 I established a userid with Intuit. Who cares!? I closed the program and restarted it. It restarted on the first userid and password page having discarded the info I had already provided. Since I can't get by this nonsense I can't install 2015. Since 2015 is unusable I returned it. So congratulate whoever made these decisions. Not only have they discouraged me from trying to install Quicken but I expect to encounter the same nonsense from any Intuit product.
