Publisher's Description
From MattgoSoft:
Quick Menu Builder enables you to create custom executable menus. Your custom menu is compiled into a standalone executable file and works on all versions of Microsoft Windows. Production of menus is easy, fast, and does not require programming knowledge. The user interface has been designed to be intuitive and allows you to progress logically through your menus' construction. Construction of the menu is divided into steps and you have a substantial degree of freedom within each step and its available features. You can create a menu in several minutes or take more time to customize the menu, right down to the last detail. Every feature is customizable; each menu you create can be radically different from any other. The menus are created as an "under-lay" beneath a picture.

"Hopeful, but falls flat..."
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Pros
Freeware, Easy Installation, Easy Removal.
Cons
Not well documented, Failed to run menu.
Summary
I was looking for an easy to use menu program, reminiscent of the Shareware/Freeware menus found in the early DOS days. What I found was a menu builder program that failed to run programs and was not well documented.
Thinking that I had done something wrong, I uninstalled it, and then started over again. Same story! I wound up buying another program: "AutoPlay Menu Builder" that worked as it was supposed to... -
"Geed, better if supported and forum under control"
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Pros
The program is fairly easy to use once you to lear n is.
Cons
Lack of support has been mentioned many times, but something even worse has cropped up recently.
AVOID THE FORUM; it's no longer relevant!Summary
The problem with the forum is two fold:
A new problem has recently cropped up with respect to the forum and it "should be avoided at all costs"!
First it has degenerated into a sexually-oriented, thoroughly irrelevant medium.
Second, recently some individual has begun sending bogus messages to forum members claiming that their systems are infected by viruses, and that they should follow his link to correct all their problems.
It's either a very stupid attempt to sell some product which can't stand on it's own merit, or some ploy to distribute his own malware.
So, as I said before, avoid the forum at all costs; it's too out of date to be useful even if you could dig your way though all the sexually oriented crap to find something.

First the forum has degenerated into a sexually-oriented mess that has absolutely no bearing on the product. You will waste a lot of time trying to find some of the original useful bits of information that may be there.
Second, recently some unscrupulous individual has been sending messages to forum members claiming that they have viruses on their systems and that they should follow his link to correct all of their problems.
It's obviously some ploy to try and sell some product that can't stand on it's own merit, or a means to distribute his own malware.

"Hard to understand how to use it"
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Pros
It looked nice to start with
Cons
It all stopped with a note in French and a number of figures
Summary
It takes a lot of try and error before I could make it work as you get very little help from the producer. But finely it works all right!

"A good, if flawed effort."
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Pros
I was looking for a basic menu creation package; easy to follow that lets you make a quick autorun system for a CD or Pen drive. On the face of it, this does that. Its got a clear interface and does work, in its own limited way. If you are handy with a graphics program, you can (somewhat laterally) create some nice menus. The facility to add sounds is good, and for making very basic menus, this package is worth a look in. The process is fairly quick and I have to commend the effort in layout.
Cons
Alas, you are likely to run into difficulties in all but the simplest menus. By my understanding of the product, you are creating "clickable" areas on your graphical background, which serve as your buttons. Assigning functions to the buttons, at first, seems like a pretty straightforward affair - but as soon as I went over 7 buttons, I was getting some French error messages coming up. (before I'd even assigned function to them!).
I had some issues with sound, although adding files for sound seemed intuitive, many mp3 files (that play fine elsewhere) are reduced to a ear-jarring screech when played as part of your menu. (Turn your speakers down when you test your menu!)
As I say, it's worth a look if you want something very, very basic. But anything else really demands something with a few more options.
Shame really, I think we were close with this one; but there is no way on earth this one deserves five (or even four) stars.

"Good program but NO support"
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Pros
The program works as advertised, makes a nice autoloading menu for CD's.
I was so impressed that I immediately purchased the PRO version, thinking that I would pay for a program that I thought was worth the fees.
Cons
Right after I paid for the program, I tried one of the advanced features. That locked it up and I haven't been able to use it since. I have written the author 3 times over 4 weeks, but have had NO response. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it but it still won't work.
The documentation is weak, and the support is weaker.
If you don't speak French, you don't have much of a chance to use all the features.
Don't waste your money registering it, the free version does almost every thing the registered version and you don't gain a thing by sending this guy any money.

"Excellent stable free program"
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Summary
Installed on W9X and XP no problem. Stable. Instructions short and not detailed enough - support forum in French. Limited features as far as background music MUST be mp3 for example, and once only effect must be a wav. Can make some nice looking autorun CD's with some lateral thinking. Win32bit only. Nevertheless well worth the download. Limitless free use, regitration unlocks some features (not essential).

"Easy to use, full featured and free!"
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Summary
This program does not have annoying pop up windows on the finished product. It has all the features you want and it is FREE! It is the best of the shareware/freeware world!

"Great program that works and the best part-FOR FREE!"
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Summary
This is a great program. I was looking for a program that would allow me to do it. I tried others, but they couldn't compare with the user-friendly wizard. I've used it to make CD's for my church to give to visitors. Truly a great find.

"Very easy to use and it works great!"
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Summary
This program does everything it says it will do. It's very simple and provides you with the opportunity to generate splash screen menus for your program as well as provide the coding for AutoRun, so when you put the CD-ROM in, it automatically starts up. The quality of the menu will depend on the quality of the graphic designer. Excellent place to get your feet wet with splash screen menus and AutoRun, or is an excellent tool for already advanced users! Plus, it's a really small file! I HIGHLY recommend it.

"I think it is good"
Version: Quick Menu Builder 1.31
Summary
I have learned well how to deal with the program parameters and the few bugs related mostly with creating buttons after wasting 7 CDs. If you want to use this software I recommend you to use a rewritable CD or enable the Autorun feature in your removable drive for practice in the short run until you master all its features.
Good luck
