Although it's hardly the best Web browser out there, Puffin Web Browser Free does provide you with something different when it comes to browsing the Web. This free app can bring PC-style Web browsing directly to your Android device.
The main browser interface of the app is a bit reminiscent of Android's default Web browser, with pop-up settings and only the address bar on top of the screen. However, you'll instantly notice that there are two more buttons below its main interface. The one on the left is the mouse button. When clicked, it displays a "mouse pad" area, where you can use your fingers as if on a laptop's touch pad. The right button is the keyboard button. It calls up your device's default keyboard at any time, without the need to click on an input bar first. When accessing pages, we found that they loaded very, very quickly, at more than twice or even three times the speed of the default Android browser. Additional buttons that pop up on the left and right can sometimes be difficult to call up, but this isn't a problem since there are other options for easy access.
Puffin Web Browser Free is the browser to use if you want the PC-browsing experience on your mobile device. The only thing that we didn't like about it was that in comparison with other Web browsers such as Opera Mini, which is less than 1MB, it has a high storage-space requirement of more than 7MB.
Thanks for using Puffin. In this release (7.7.2.30721), we fixed several issues and add a couple enhancements.
Puffin Web Browser is a wicked fast mobile browser. Once users experience the thrilling speed of Puffin, regular Mobile Internet feels like torture. Puffin Web Browser includes Adobe-Flash-Over-Cloud 24/7 now without additional in-app-purchase.
Wicked Fast: Puffin speeds up mobile browsing by shifting the workload from the resource-limited devices to the cloud servers, and resource-demanding webpages can run super-fast on your phones or tablets.
Cloud Protection: All traffic from Puffin app to Puffin server are encrypted, a protection from nearby hackers. It's safe to use public non-secure WiFi through Puffin, but not safe at all for most browsers.
The Latest Flash: We keep improving our cloud servers, and provide the latest version of the Flash player over the cloud.
Save your bandwidth: Puffin uses proprietary compression algorithm to transmit web data to your device, and it can save up to 90% of your bandwidth on regular web browsing. (Please be noted that streaming Flash content or videos requires more bandwidth than the normal usage.)
