Offering nothing new under the sun, this application's objective is to give you fast access to your favorite PC locales. Program Manager XP places a dockable toolbar on your screen to provide shortcuts to your most frequently used programs and Web sites. Although it only provides alternative routes to your system's current areas, it questionably eats up nearly 12MB of hard drive space. Its main window is basic in nature and adding your programs, files, and folders is done in a flash. You can instantly manage and add your favorite Web links and configure your system's e-mail and chat settings to easily launch from here too. Shortcuts to the Control Panel, Device Manager, My Documents, and others are readily available from the toolbar and its system-tray icon. Its one-click access to your system's defragmenter and search features are useful additions, as are the handy calendar and event scheduler. Though most of its functionality already is a part of Windows, this program lessens the steps in accessing these areas for XP users.
