"Free to STARE AT WITH MOUTH AGAPE BUT NOTHING MORE"
Version: Product Key Explorer 2.9.5
Pros
Well, I DID get practice with d/l and installing software of no use or value to me...Free to try...is...a LIE...You are required to buy a reg code the first time the app opens for use--no code, no use.
Cons
See above...
Summary
I don't know what to tell you...I'm disappointed about being sent on a wild goose chase, but...it didn't kill me...lol!

"I may be too organized"
Version: Product Key Explorer 2.8.8
Pros
As I recall, it did what it said it would do - find some product keys. It didn't cost me anything to try it.
Cons
The previous version only found a few keys and they are ones I keep in a clearly identified folder. I don't think it found photoshop and I know it didn't find Snag-It or Win Patrol Plus, a couple of apps that I paid for but lost in an HDD failure and now can't use anymore even though I reinstalled them.
Product Key Explorer installed itself and then told me my trial was up (I only used the previous version once and it didn't help me and it was quite a while ago).
I have no complaints about the product, but it was not useful for me. Therefore 3 stars. -
"Hardly worth the effort"
Version: Product Key Explorer 2.7.1
Pros
Identified a few.
Cons
Showed less than half of the product keys for the registered programs I have on my computer.
Summary
It showed me the product keys for applications I wasn't looking for. The specific application I needed the product key for was not even identified in the list.
Product Key Explorer showed some programs, which are registered with keys and couldn't display them. Instead, it tells me to register the application (again?).
After spending about 10 minutes playing around with this, I decided to put one of my favorite programs to work - REVO uninstaller.
Thats 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back... :( -

"Probably good for Microsoft Software"
Version: Product Key Explorer 2.6.7
Pros
It was very easy to set up and use.
Cons
It would not work on the software I was trying to get the key, which was the upgrade disk for Yonde!!koko, a Japanese OCR software that is now owned by Seiko-Epson. I successfully recovered the product serial number but not the key.
Summary
Limited capabilities. Does not work on all software.
-
"Useless unless registered"
Version: Product Key Explorer 2.6.3
Pros
None at all.
Cons
Program states it is free to try. Not true - when I installed the program it came up, I hit the "FIND KEYS" button and all it said on all of them was "Please register this program to see key!".
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PROGRAM!!!!!!!Summary
Absolute waste of time! Free to try.... What a lie

Pros
ALL INDICATIONS ARE THAT IT COULD BE GOOD - SEE CONS
Cons
I WOULD LOVE TO BUT IT REQUIRES IT COMES UP WITH "Your temporary key has expired. If you believe this message is in error, please contact the program's author."
