    "Your personal security guard."

by Smoaky on June 26, 2006

Pros: Process Guard sports a simple and easy to use interface with a multitude of options to help get your PC locked down and super secure. If you want to upgrade to the paid version.....which has even more options,... then that will take your security to an even higher level. The free version is more than enough protection for the regular PC user, yet powerful enough to be your final line of defense to stop all vermin in thier tracks. This program is a great compliment to you firewall and allows you to be DOUBLE protected.

Cons: Plain jane GUI, but that could be a good thing. If it helps all the noob's understand how to configure this proggy to help keep them safe, then I am all for a simple and plain interface.

    "Came highly recommended..."

    by 19monty64 on June 22, 2006

Pros: ...and didn't disappoint!!!! Was using PrevX, which I find very effective, but noticed an ever growing log-file and some slow-down of other apps. even though they were allowed, so I gave this a try. A noticeable difference! Just as easy to set up but this is a much smaller dLo with no slow-down of other progs. This relies more on help-forums for questions as opposed to what other-users experience. What's the diff you ask? PrevX is often using the net for advice whereas this has you find out yourself, so it's a control-issue basically! Pop-ups are less irritating too!

    Cons: nada

    "FUDWARE mislabled as freeware."

by webgrrrl on January 29, 2006

Pros: Good functional concept, but ..

Cons: Mislabeled as freeware and has no real trial period.

Must be paid for or it becomes useless quickly.

If not purchased your system becomes more vulnerable than it was before the installation.

    Difficult to uninstall.

Once installed, unless you buy it it becomes useless very quickly, and it leaves your system more vulnerable than it was before.

Falsely labeling this freeware, when it is not, is an unscrupulous business practice which strongly undermines trust, and one which should rightly make the consumer wary.

    "Good concept, needs improvement"

by Topper on December 27, 2005

Pros: I like the main feature of this program, to prevent viruses and spyware from executing.

Cons: Slows system performance after a few hours. And it would take up 10-15MB of memory on average with three separate processes. This is a limited free version with basic monitoring only, so there should also be a fully functional trial.

    "Good idea, kind of intrusive"

by choicefresh on August 17, 2008

Pros: It catches any processes doing suspicious things, and does a pretty good job.

Cons: It takes quite a bit of memory, occasionally causes crashes, and is not freeware. Some features are disabled. In conclusion, I don't think ProcessGuard is necessary if you have a good antivirus and firewall.
