CNET Editors' review
If you've ever tried tracking down a process in Windows Task Manager, you know it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Process Explorer makes the job a lot easier. This freeware utility displays running processes in an intuitive tree format that includes not only process names, but also program icons and other data, such as description, image, and processor time.
It also can identify the process for a given application window or look up a process name in Google--a handy way to spot spyware. Additional features offer detailed information on performance, DLLs, threads, handles, TCP/IP connections, security settings, and environments. Despite its lack of visual polish, Process Explorer is one of the best Task Manager replacements we've seen.
Publisher's Description
From Sysinternals:
The Process Explorer display consists of two subwindows. The top always shows a list of the currently active processes, including the names of their owning accounts, and the information displayed in the bottom window depends on the mode the Process Explorer is in: If it's in handle mode, you'll see the handles that the process selected in the top window has opened; if it's in DLL mode, you'll see the DLL and memory-mapped files that the process has loaded. Process Explorer also has a powerful search capability that will quickly show you which processes have particular handles opened or DLLs loaded.

"Very Helpfull, Easy To Use, Great Addition To Every System..."
Version: Process Explorer 10.2
Pros
This is a great addition to the standard windows process manager. It allows some extra functionality that you don't get with the standard program. It also has a very easy to understand tree style listing of processes and allows you to choose through many different columns and select which info you want displayed.
Cons
The one thing I would like to see is some of the tabs from Task Manager included into Process Explorer, like Applications, Networking, and a Users tab. I would then see no use for the standard windows Task Manager.

"A Nice tool to View all the processes running"
Version: Process Explorer 10.2
Pros
Simple One exe file. Double click! and Lo! In a simple yet elegant windows all the processes along with its child processes are shown. You can not only see, but kill the process, its child too! U can see each Process' CPU load, to which company/software the process belongs to. Which will definitely allow one to decide whether to kill the process. FREEWARE too! Enuff said ? right ?

"Competent and Useful program"
Version: Process Explorer 10.2
Pros
I have downloaded and tested most of the process viewers in downloads.com, I was looking for something that simply told me what command lines each svchost entry refered to so I could trace it back to the registry entry that loaded it, and also figure out which processes to let my firewall block. Various programs adopt various overkill approaches, but none except this one actually gives you the sensible and needed process information. With Process Explorer, it simply fires up and lists the processes, with configurable display columns (I get my command line!). Holding your mouse over the process TELLS YOU WHAT IT DOES!!! Isn't that a surprise? You can do all the normal sort of things, such as kill or re-prioritise processes, and the interface is great, just plain and straightforward allowing windows to do the fancy look-and-feel stuff which is what programmers should do. TOO MANY programs want to use pretty interfaces and strange buttons, whereas Microsoft have spent billions on this, why re-invent the wheel? But we digress... One very nice feature of this program is that when you go to the Process properties, it will show you everything for THAT process, including the TCP/IP connections, security, individual performance graphs (identical to the taskmgr ones) and something called "strings", useful for poking viruses, if you do that sort of thing. This program is very useful, I shall be keeping it and might even buy it.
Cons
Nothing. This program does what it says on the tin, is free, does not nag you, and is very neat and self-contained.

-
"Great idea , excellent program"
Version: Process Explorer 10.2
Pros
Extremely lightweight(1.38Mbytes) & useful program :
allows to know processes running , related DLL ,
CPU usage , company name , priority , system information .
Very low RAM usage .
Simple interface & easy to use .
It also allows to set processes priority(including
Windows services that cannot be modified
from Task Manager) & it provides links
to websites for processes info(Google or MSN search) .
Cons
Modifying Windows vital processes processes is
very dangerous (not unfrequent to get "BLUE
SUDDENDEATH SCREEN") , thus specific
system knowledges & big amounts of caution
are required to use it .
